I will paint him, but I will add the sword when I ll decide which one will do the job. Apart from that, I think I will go for black p.armor with green highlight edges, and a bone colour robe and hood. Probably hood will have some free hand on it. I ll start the model today and keep it up with photos so you can see its progress. Thanks again, for the comments.
remember the otiginal dark angels wore black armor (good to see you are going that direction), however they had red trim but livery on shoulder was personalized...

There were fallen during the heresy (black armour) and after (green armor, after it was discovered Johnson was waiting to see who to side with).... Cypher is trying to get sword back to emperor, and one novel explained him changing into green armor....very old fluff from when GW had mini mags in 1990s....

Very cool conversion, nice paint, however I would not hang a piece of paper from a plasma pistol. Just sayin.

Yeah, as I understand it, the ones from Caliban had heraldry harkening them to their knightly order on their right shoulderpads rather than legion role designations (you know, tactical, assault, dev, etc). Their left shoulders with the Dark Angels symbol were painted Caliban green to symbolize the forests of home.

As for Cypher, he should be in green armor as it is actually part of his fluff. The black/green armor thing you describe has kind of been retconned out. ALL the Fallen would have still been in black armor according to the more recent stuff, as the guys who were green and the reason the chapter eventually all went green was to show loyalty to The Lion. That's why Cypher still being in green armor just adds to his intrigue.

I was actually planning on painting him in black armor when I got my model of him, but after reading his Dataslate, I get now just why he's in green armor. The whole "Am I really a good guy or bad guy?!" thing is great and it's why he's my favorite non-primarch 40k character.

You can check the final pics. As you can see the paper piece is removed, as I realised that the dynamic didn't fit well. Thanks for the comment though.
