I kinda didn't understand the meaning of this thread. You mean favorite model-wise or rules-powergaming wise?

Not to speak for the OP, but here's my take on this… "Favorite" is a flexible term. There are a lot of things that can generate the feeling. Could be a good paint job, powerful rules, nice sculpt/conversion, or history. Or some or all of those. When you are reaching to the shelf to grab someone to lead your army, who draws your hand? Who do you feel bad leaving there collecting dust while some shiny youngster who fits the meta better gets table time? Who cut a bloody swath through your FLGS's last campaign, sparking fear whenever he hit the table? Everyone is going to have their own criteria on who their favorite is. The question posed wasn't who's the most powerful, who would win in a fight, or the best looking sculpt. It was your favorite HQ in your collection. This removes all the math hammer and catalog paint jobs. It's a very personal, biased opinion, made with whatever factors and variables are important to the individual responding. It is nice to see pictures and hear what reasons people used to choose though. On that note I went back and edited my original post with some of my thoughts (I already had a pic).

old school 2nd ed dark angel captain painted as fallen angel. Way better model than the one they replaced it with and looks sick in black with his broadsword and head dress. got him unpainted on ebay for only £5 inc. postage. sweet.

Calgar with honor guard and Ahriman with thousand sons would have to be my favorites. Great lore, great men, great rules, cool looking models

Probably my jump pack Chaplain, although I rarely find a way to work it into my lists. My second favorite is my Terminator Librarian which I use way more often.

My favorite guy has to be my dual mace interrigator chaplain. He's holding the mace of redemption up high ready to smite a heretic, and he does incredibly well in combat. He and the DW knightmaster make mincemeat out of any unit well before the rest has a chance to swing!

Probably the Chapter Master I built from ebay bits.
He's a classic. I love it when people shoot at him for ages and he doesn't die. Toss in Iron Hands Tactics and laugh every time he heals himself...

Definitely my Abaddon. I don't use him too often, I only pull him out for the big battles where I feel like a 265 point HQ is worth it. But he has never died...course I say that and now he will in the next game. But, so far its been cool that my Chaos SM leader that has lived for over 10,000 years has never died.

I love Warhammer 40000 and if you want to try to spoil that for me, or impose your own vision of it onto mine, then you can go suck a lemon. |

Mine would have to be my multi-role commander who I have magnetized to run as a Support'o or an Immortal'o. Used to run her as Twin-linked Plasma with Fusion last edition.
Or my Shas'o R'myr with EVA R'ymr when he still had an Ejector System.
