Right. Space Marine helmets make shiny, colorful trophies after all!

Aye, and you can have your very own Muhreen helmet trophy, for the low, low price of about a thousand of your dead comrades!

Dying gloriously in battle from a quick Bolter headshot is not un-Orky.

It counts as a win for the Ork, you know. Have you not read the Codex?

I always laugh at that quote, because it isn't at all uncommon for Orks to run away from losing fights, screaming and gaking on themselves in terror.

Like most boasts, it's just tough talk.

Of course it's just a joke, much like the entire race.

They're rather brutal for a comedy race, but they still very much are one.

Yep, 'tis true.

I think it would be nice if part of the mob-rule for the orks was that they actually got fearless if a squad has a certain number of numbers.

Enough Orks have heard of him for their latent psychic "if we think it's true it becomes true" abilities to start affecting Yarrick. The guy is pretty much unkillable because the Orks think he's unkillable. He even has greenish tinged skin in official model paint schemes. Yarrick's the Orkiest humie dat evah lived.

Think of something clever to say.

That is my reasoning as well. Seeing as the ork race is largely segregated & rarely agree upon anything, its hard to say (x) is Orks Arch enemy but Ghazghkull managed to organize not 1 but both of the largest Waggh's known to the Imperium both on Armageddon. During the 2nd war of Armageddon the only thing that prevented Ghazghkull's success was Yarrick stalling Ghazghkull long enough at Hades Hive for Space Marine reinforcement on the planet. Many orks know of Yarrick & fear him as much as Ghazghkull. I believe at one point in Chains of Golgatha book, a Ork Warboss jumps onto a chimera Yarrick is in, or perhaps it was his baneblade & Yarrick said "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?" & showed his power klaw which made the Warboss wince & Yarrick cut off his head. How many times in lore has a Ork warboss successfully captured & tortured a human & let them live so they might fight again someday? This is the only account I am aware of.

Isn't his sword quite nasty against tanks?

In fluff, there is no 'may-not-assault-from-deepstrike' restriction.

I think this from the farsight enclaves pretty much sums the sword up.

Fashioned aeons ago by the strange race that once inhabited that haunted world, the Dawn Blade has been forged from materials that even the finest of Earth caste minds cannot fathom. Its blade is sharp enough to cut through rock, and since taking it up on Arthas Moloch, and modifying it for use in battle, it has been O’Shovah’s weapon of choice for close engagements. Unbeknownst to Farsight, the ancient sword has a dark secret. Its blade is made from chronophagic alloys – whenever its wielder cuts a life short with it, the natural span that he stole from his victim is added to the wielder’s own. This has allowed O’Shovah to live for almost three centuries. Though he has his suspicions that it is the Dawn Blade that has prolonged his lifespan to such a degree, if Farsight ever found out the horrible truth, he would likely end his own life in ritual suicide then and there.

He is also great at fighting against orks considering that's what he spent most of his life doing. And he's essentially immortal, what fun (they really should give him eternal warrior, I mean, he is essential immortal).

Exactly why do they fear him? Just killing a bunch of other Orks doesn't quite do the trick, since they are quite used to that. Getting Orks to admit that they are afraid of something is almost impossible.

Farsight would tear a Leman Russ to pieces. On the tabletop and in the fluff.

That said, Farsight would probably be the orks' favorite Tau enemy. He likes to get in nice and close with his sword and chop some fools in half- just the way orks like it.

Nope. He has a nice Invulnerable save. You'd be pretty damn lucky to down him in one turn, and with his Armourbane sword he makes fast work of the Executioner in his own turn.

Nope. He has a nice Invulnerable save.
Which doesn't help him that much as he takes so many high-strength, low AP hits that he dies anyway

Quantity is a quality all on its own, as Orks know quite well.

To travel from system to system, orks use space hulks often infested with genestealers and in any case, unprotected from the warp (with means they'll have a fun time with daemons in their home turf. They're like an entire race of Draigos). Their passtimes involve killing more often than not. Even their latrines are deadly. How can a Tau guy be scary for creatures with such a mindset?

IMO, they should do a retcon:

Get Necrons out of the Eldar background (they already have a nemesis in Chaos/Slaanesh).

Make Orks the ancient enemy of Necrons. Ultimate disorder vs. ultimate order.

The Orks already are ancient enemies of the Necrons. The Orks and the Eldar were contemporary creations of the Old Ones during the era of the War in Heaven.

Naaaah 3-shots are unlikely to kill him. Dat save.

And in the fluff, Farsight's suit can actualyl resist tank fire, so. Heh.

I wonder if, say, the Artificier Armour worn by Techmarines and Honour Guard actually is ∞ times more effective against Battle Cannon fire than Power Armour is, like in the game?

If we are to use stats as proof, then no cherrypicking all the good stuff!

(Or wait... *Looks at sig*)
