Ahhhh another that has the love of an old Buick. I have a 95 Buick as well but mine is off the Park Avenue variety. Hitting 200k in another 2 weeks.

We are planning on another car once tax time hits and we have a nice round deposit sitting in the bank

So, because they cars where not high performance he owned, they are not cars for people that like cars?

Sort of... Basically you have cars, and "enthusiast" cars. Most often, the enthusiasts cars have some form of performance to their aspect (speed, handling/racing, offroading, etc)

Oh man is this just wrong logic. For once I'm siding with hotsauceman here. Being a car guy doesn't matter if the car is " performance" or not. That doesn't make a person a car guy at all.

No, what I'm saying is that you can be a car guy, and still have a "non-car guy car" Many of the mid-80s to mid-90s caddies are pretty much owned by one group of people in my area. They are ALL the type who take a 200 dollar car, raise it to fit enormous wheels under it.

Fixing a car up does make you a car guy, but it's still possible to own a car that isn't typically associated with gearheads.

2012 Dodge Challenger SXT/SST+

Basically the RT with a 305 hp V6, as I use it for my daily driver, but it still has all the trac pac and sport mode, 3.73 rear etc. I catch some flak for having a V6 in this type of car but its no joke, took down a Cooper GP a few days ago (through bends no less!), and numerous mid-late Mustang GTs.

Not a ton done to it, some throttle body/intake/head porting, a tuner with a custom tune along with some bolt ons like a CAI, pushing just under 325 hp (about 40 less than a HEMI RT) according to a mobile dyno, and its one of the funnest cars I have ever driven.

Its fast enough to get me in trouble, but my days of screaming V8s running 11s down the track left when I sold my 71 Dart.
