This form of dedication deserves an exalt.
As for me? Well i dont usually get ill. Last summer, on my friends birthday there was an exception though....
We had been out drinking, and i had been having some of that nasty cheap cider, and we thought we could do with some food. I should have forseen what happened next though. I was already blacking out (combination of heatstroke and alchaol mixed with dehydration) and we went to a little place on the front (he lives in Blackpool) to get a hotdog to share. This was the tipping point. My body was already coping with 8 pints of cheap gak cider downed rapidly, coupled with the afore mentioned heatstroke and dehydration..... And something in that sausage was off. My system went into full lockdown, and actually managed to contain the forthcoming eruptions for a whole forty minutes. Sadly, this was not enough to let us actually get off the bus (but we did manage to get to the stop-good timing ). One second where having a drunken conversation, the next vomit spews out of my mouth, all ver me and all over the bus. Whilst i remember little, we managed to get off the bus, and begin our epic 400 metre journey to his house. In the end it took all of 4 hours to get back, with frequent stops, and resting on the pavement. Oh, and the assistance of a nice lady. But i could not sleep it off. For the next 12 hours, i was letting loose with both ends frequently. In the end i had my mum come and pick me up, and get me home.
I owe my friend my life for getting me back, and i also enjoyed 12 hours of pure hell.
However, my immune system is a bitch, and i was back on my feet within a day, and eating too.

Either a lot of people here have very weak constiutions or the food saftey standards in the US are terrible.
I have had food poisoning once and that came from some Asda chicken wings (almost certainly), Salmonella enteritidis isn't much fun. a couple of hours of the gaks is absolutely nothing compared to two weeks of stomach cramps.

I don't understand how you put with with MREs, they are far worse than our rat packs. The last time I was on tour we had MREs for when we were on night shifts and I can safely say that I didn't find anything in them that was more than technically edible, except perhaps the chilli but then its almost impossible to make inedible chilli. Even the branded chocolates tasted odd.

You know that the shake (and the fries) have meat fat made in with them. At least at McDonalds. Short of getting one of their meatless salads and a carbonated beverage, you aren't avoiding meat-you just don't know it.
I dislike any form of Soda. I don't mind eating that stuff, you just won't find me munching really anything at KFC
Also, Panera is awesome. I love the Bakery things thay make. I must complain that there are no Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins (Chocolate Muffins with Choc chips in them)

Well, there was the epic memory my wife and I have from back when I was dating her, and upon coming home from a Homecoming game (she's a teacher) that we went to taco Bell beforehand, she was driving and I spent the last mile of a bumpy dirt road back to her house squirming in my seat, trying to keep my control.
I showed that toilet who's the boss, I tell you what.

That's what I'm thinking. This has got to be the biggest group of people with sensitive stomachs all in one place that I've ever seen. I've eaten more than my fair share of fast food in the US and never had a problem. The only time I've ever gotten food poisoning was from eating local food in Morocco. I was down for a day or two with diarrhea and vomiting. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but I have my suspicions that it was from one particular place. As soon as I was better, I went right back to eating the local food, and I was totally fine.
I'm surprised at all the hate towards Arby's and Panera. Where I'm from they are two of the best fast food/cafe bakery type chains, respectively.

I agree, Man I feel like I have an iron stomach now. I eat Tuna sandwhiches out of vending machines here at work and im fine, There has only been one fast food place to get the best of me.
I used to love rallys (checkers), They served my favorite soda (Mr. Pibb) had good sized food for the price, and they were close to my old house. One day I decided YOLO and ordered the Chili cheese double cheese burger. Biggest mistake I have ever made ever in my life, and my life is composed of 15 years (I figure the first 6 were pretty ok) of terrible decsions.
Never again, I can do Chili dogs. I can do Chili fries (now I'm hungry) but I can never eat at Rallys again.

Ye. I was thinking much the same. I have only had food poisoning once, from eating undercooked chicken at a work Christmas lunch, and that wasn't that bad. It was only a mild campylobacter case. Bit of vomiting and I felt rubbish the next day, but nothing like people are describing as not that uncommon from fast food. I think in the UK the major fast food chains are probably the safest place to eat. I have had some soggy or overcooked food from a few places, but never anything dangerous.
The worst one for me is Dominoes. I have a wheat intolerance and can eat the odd slice of bread normally, but I have a weakness for greasy fatty pizza and Dominoes fills that so well. It may not be the best pizza, but it is full of sugar and fat. Unfortunately it gives me stomach cramps and the runs for 48h, but it is so worth it the few times a year I have it.

I think the self-righteous hate and indignation of fast food is more surprising then the realization that most people have weak constitutions I guess. I would have thought on a gamer board there would have been entire threads or sticky posts devoted to the fast food gods.

I went Wendys one night. Now I am ok with hiring the disabled. More than ok with it, I think it’s great. The lady that took my order was clearly “slow.” On the other hand she never stopped taking my order or filling my drink while puking what I can only describe as baby food, which shows dedication to her job. Only after I started to freak out and almost puke myself did someone not “slow” see what was going on and stop her as she sprayed yet more bright orange vomitus all over the counter and drink station. I couldn’t help but think what did she eat? How could it be bright orange? They asked me what order was and that they would get it right out I told them I already paid and handed them my receipt. I exclaimed I wasn’t hungry anymore and left. I have never been back to Wendys. I like the spicy chicken sandwhich, but all I can see is bright orange vomitus now.

Id have to say all of them. If i can avoid Fast food i will now, after not having it for long enough that stuff smells awe full. I wish my parents never gave me mc Donalds etc as a kid because its really bad. I wont be giving my kid any fast food growing up. Well ill avoid it. My cousins are lucky enough to never eat it growing up (for them a yogurt is a huge treat) and it seems weird at first but well worth it when you see the results haha. Not that its bad to eat it but i do think people will be better off without that kind of food. So my worst experience is all of them except when i ate it as a kid (like 3-8) as a treat. Although Subway feels pretty good to eat, so subways is all i eat when we get take out

Soooo.... the only two possibilities are that I am either a wuss with a weak stomach, or that fast food has a tendency to be dubious at best? I have friends who refuse to eat at fast food chains that they have worked at, not because they hate the food (they actually love it) because they know what goes on behind the counter.
I have eaten hundreds of meals at Taco Bell. My wife makes gross noises at me when I call Baja Blast "Angel Tears". But what can I say, once a meal there turned me into a walking, talking soup factory.
Must be me, then.
