No..you laugh at the ones giving you the bird and having a women in really tight skimpy outfit beside us toast the ones heading to class with beers in hand...for we are to busy not noticing the ones giving us the birds..

I'd say that a course in choosing a degree would be a good idea. Something which showed that some degrees are largely useless in getting an actual job. Steer kids towards degrees that will give them an actual monetary return on the expense.

So maybe we wouldn't have tons of Art or Liberal Art's majors who basically wasted their college learning money on a degree with very little demand.

If only that would work, but unfortunately it's just that kind of thing that gate the UK millions of Media Studies, Business and IT (As apposed to computer science and software engineering) graduates. Lots of teachers and carrear advisers telling them these degrees would be good earners.

When I have kids I'm going to advise them to do something that really interests them, be that university or not. Money is not the be all and end all. Academia doesn't pay well but is very rewarding. Don't do something for the money, or because you must have a degree, no matter what it is in.
