Empress Miniatures (the closest match I could find to Spectre) come in at 4 for 7.50 quid. It is disappointing that there isn't a discount given for the larger sets though.

With all of the previous stretch goals having been met two new ones have been added with what looks like newly sculpted models.

Also anyone who pledges at the Contractor level or higher now recieves a freebie.

Hey Spectre you can throw about a load of guns as a terrain piece, but where are the separate weapons sets?

I'm guessing that he's not meant to be a PMC or anything. Rather mercenary in the context of say local militia groups going off to fight in other countries for pay (illegally).

Those are non-ks prices, though. Empress' KS had some nice deals in it.

A beta version of the rules (called SPECTRE: Operations) is now available (formerly for backers only, before they realised that that was probably a dumb idea). Its bit late here, so I can't personally give a review of the ruleset at this second unfortunately. Go give the damn thing yourself you lazy gits, my opinion's skewed as hell anyway. At a glance I'm really liking that they went for the system of giving every model on the board its own separate profile and choice of weapons, gear and perks. If it turns out well I may take it up as an actual game (as opposed to backing the thing just for some models for Skirmish games).

A new stretch goal has been added which includes some printerable terrain along with some laser cut bits to add detail (window frames, balconies, etc). They're set at the £16,000 level, whilst the current amount of cash raised is at £14,749.

A link to the Kickstarter for those who don't want to jump back to the front page. =)

I've looked over the rules and they're simple enough. Well, super simple honestly, and that's in a good way.

Suppression is simple and effective, the number of suppression tokens on the table will be an issue, but the game only has a small number of troops.

Most of the shooting will effectively be deadly as soon as a model is hit, so at first I was a bit confused about the complexity of the casualty and bleeding out system. Then I remembered again that it's only a tiny number of models, and there's some interesting ways to get casualties back up. Most players will figure out when a casualty is too far gone and far away from help that they'll just remove them from the table.

Not too big a fan of opposed rolls, since it seems to make things even more random, with resulting swinging more wildly than just letting the target number stand, but sometimes that's a good thing.

So yeah, a simple historical style game. Nothing you haven't seen before in countless other rules.

Will actually have to play some match ups of various types to get a final idea of how it plays. I'll want to try various warlord and mercs/specops lists.

I think most of my friends will be making ridiculous warlord armies and giving them crazy names, because yes, we're horrible people (although we won't be using child soldiers and such if that kind of stuff makes it in).

Anyone have links to batreps?

A review of the rules in case anyone's interested. Though as Brummie Thug (Simon) says in the comments, the concerns over shooting rules may not be well informed.

Spectre Miniatures has put together some more stretch goals. If they don't make any of these, then they're sure to be released soon over the following months.

The current money pledged at this time is £15,623 btw.

*I will note that when the technical was first posted it cost £30, not £25.

I'm tempted. I'm a terrible judge of historical or real life sculpts so I'm not sure yet.

Making the technical a KS exclusive seems dumb. That would sell well outside the KS.

I've asked whether certain Kickstarter exclusive models, including those part of stretch goals which may not be met, will be available post Kickstarter. The initial response from Spectre Miniatures was "you should read our updates and Facebook page", rather than answering the question. As I didn't see anything regarding this on the initial updates page of their Kickstarter, I've posed the question to them again hoping for a straight answer. So, yeah, at present I can't tell you if certain marketable models will be available for general release, or if the term "exclusive" refers to only that particular iteration of a model, or if, in the case of the Technical, it'll come out in a different form later on.

Edit, quote Spectre Miniatures:

The Kickstarter exclusive figures will only ever be available by being a backer of the KS - regardless of whether the goal is met or not (if it's not met, they won't be cast).
With the technical it is harder to say. If it is made available after the KS it likely will not be for some time and it may be manufactured slightly differently.
It all depends on whether there is the demand for it. If the technical goal isn't reached it won't be printed or cast as that would be very big expense to produce something that we haven't been guaranteed there is the demand for.

I imagine they'll eventually make some kind of technical. Maybe not necessarily that exact version will see retail release, but possibly a different truck type. Maybe they'll do one based on an older model truck.

Well the matter of vehicles was discussed on another forum, and the conclusion was that they're just too expensive to produce most of the time. I mean why spend £25 on a resin vehicle when you can buy a similar die cast from a discount shop for £1? The problem with modern vehicles is that either the models are too specific, which means nobody wants them, or their so common that the market's saturated. That or there's not much use for the vehicles in the rules at all, or if there is the price of the vehicle scares away many who would've used the things. So... though that Technical's nice, unless its stretch goal is met, its unlikely that it'll go into large scale production in the short term unless there's pretty significant interest in it. Like I said, why spend £25 when you could just buy any 1/43 - 50th pickup truck and stick a machine gun on the back (Spectre's one comes with a gunner too mind)? Its an unfortunate state of affairs, but that's just how the business works unless you're Games Workshop (who know people *need* to buy X number of large kits to use in their armies, so they can get away with manufacturing a load of them, albeit of sub par quality).

Well there's twenty three hours left to go with the Kickstarter and as of posting £21,659 has been raised. All stretch goals are now unlocked, so if you're wanting to back then I guess now is the time. Anyone wanting a Technical might also want to pick one up now rather than waiting for one to be released post Kickstarter too btw as has been discussed above.
