Hi guys,

Sorry for the confusion on the DE Codex; I'll take the responsibility for that.

In past years, we did put a deadline a month out to avoid exactly this kind of thing, but when we last discussed it, we were hearing the same variety of rumors that everyone else was about when it would come out. The initial assumption was that it would be out this week, and I didn't confirm it because we didn't get the WD in at our local shop last week (and yes, I apparently lack the ability to look closely at the GW preorder page).

In any case, the old one is the ONLY one that's going to be allowed, since the last thing we want to see is someone bringing and playing an army that they had maybe a couple of hours to read over the codex prior to building the list.

We changed the date of the army list submissions in anticipation of the release of Codex: DE. Since that isn't happening until the day of the tournament, just take some joy in the fact that you got an extra week to do it

In regards to the question about Stompas and Ork mobs from the Kastorel-Novem book, yes, you may use the Dread Mob as an army list, but you MUST bring the book, and a copy of the PDF update for your opponents to look at.

As far as the Big Mek Stompa is concerned, the version in IA8 has been superseded by the WH40K Apocalypse version, as per the IA8 update pdf. (Sorry, no "build-your-own" Big Mek Stompas!).

annnd i'm out. can't go. i'm on call this weekend, got my weeks confused. things often go boom for me and i have a huge service area. going to bow out instead of show up for 30 minutes and get stuck on the phone for an hour, or worse, have to go 2 hours north with no notice.

been looking forward to this since i found out about it last year. not cool.

This was a really good gig, well organized with good tables (terrain, F.A.T. mats & room for your stuff). SWAG & a raffle prize for every player.

Mark and Doug were really cool about making sure everyone was having fun. Well done, gents.

And Mrs. Reyes. Thank you.

I don't know as Team Beer Hammer had a great showing with a combined 6-8-1, but that's for another post.

What Casey said.

This was my first Brawl and I'll definitely be back next year. Well worth the price of admission. My only complaints on the weekend are with my dice, which actively sought my demise round after round (evidently they prefer rolling for Dark Eldar.)

Grats to the winners and to all the Brawl staff for a smooth and well run event!

Reece, I mean how they figured I got the 50 points as I think I had 40 tops, rather than 50? And how people got more than 50 when 50 was max battle points? Just a but confused .

Hey All,

The 2014 version of the Brawl in the Fall is in the books. A big thank you to everyone that came out to support our event. The event felt like it ran rather smooth with very few issues coming up. Congrats go out to all the winners

Best Overall - Paul Mckelvey (Tau Empire)
Best General - Adam Gati (Eldar)
2nd Best Overall - Geoff Robinson (Nids)
2nd Best General - Paiden Easley (Taudar)

We had 42 people attend this years event. With the larger than expected turn out and wait list, we have plans in the works to double in size next year. We do have plenty of pictures of the event up on our events facebook page. Again, thank you to everyone that came out to support us.

Adam,

Your score is correct. There were 60 points possible with 50 battle points and 10 bonus points possible for undefeated rounds. There were 15 possible points for paint. Believe me, the final scores were double and triple checked based on what was submitted to the scoring table. We should have the final break downs available for viewing on the Brawl site in the next couple of days.

Wow cool, glad to be in the know with how that worked out.

One thing worth mentioning to everyone with brawl is thier transparancy and the sheer investment these guys display and put into the event...its like a charity for 40k players .

This was my first time at the Brawl even though I have lived in the area for years. I was expecting to get my butt kicked playing DA but I have not come up with and painted a new ork army yet however I wanted to get some games in and meet new people and just have a good time. I wound up having a great time and all of my opponents were great people and fun to play. Wound up with a wonky 1-1-3 record every game was a close call at the end (heh 3 ties). After I am now really wanting to go to LVO but not sure I can swing it this year. I just wanted to thank Mark and Doug and everyone that worked on getting everything going. Also thanks to front line for the mats making all the table look great. I should of picked up another after the last game.

Lol Casey... I ended up playing people from T0C in 4/5 of my games so your prediction had pretty good odds! G4 was a very close one too hehe, if only I didnt fail 2 4" charges in a row :(.

I dont remember their names exactly but I played the guy who got best sport (Daniel May?) who had a good white scar army, Israel who played his Tau, Geoff who played his nids and Reece who played IG. Only my first round opponent wasn't from T0C lol (who I think was Matt Matchen w/ SW).
