Excellent, this looks like nurgle on acid !
If it's not too late I'd recommend filling the joint between the two halves of the body with greenstuff or something though.
Knights look great too !

Was thinking the same, as it's always photos which really seem to point out those gaps. Going to try some post paint touchup. Automatically Appended Next Post: Well, I tried to patch up, and learned a bit about some of my paint. I got the back a bit better, but the underbelly is a bit messy. On the plus side, planning on running snouted (heads and stingers are hot swappable). Meanwhile, wanted to show carapace test before I get back to more knight painting later. I'm really digging the green/yellow/purple palette at least.

More tedious work done on knight parts (washing/trim/etc), and finished my color test in the meantime. Tried to stick as close to green/purple/yellow palette as possible.
And with snout

Well, I've been suffering a bit (ear and eye infections plus near total voice loss), I managed to get prepped for a game with my pal on the Curse of the Wulfen campaign, specifcally the As Above, As Below mission. I had to speed paint some horrors I had sitting around for a year to get included. Slop, but done. I have found that I really don't enjoy painting horrors.
I managed to find zombie number 78, which had been lodged in a lint trap for over 5 months in my washing machine. Came out fine minus half of one arm. Easily replaced, and quickly painted.
His name is Wash...
...because he's dead.
So here was the table for our game, clocking in at about 11k vs 11k
No luck for my daemons this day, but was a fun slog. In the middle of it, my voice completely went out and is still nearly gone 48 hours later.
In weirder news, I purchased one of the HGBF kits, I've been eyeing for some time.
Once I'm no longer wearing shaded glasses, I'll be back to building and painting. I'm excited to get more paint and wash onto my knights, as I've been slowly pegging away at those when I can.
Take it easy!

Nice horrors, sorry to hear about the health problems, indulging in kit buying is definitely of help ! On that subject is the HGBF destined to converting or building as is ?
Keep it up !

KernelTerror: That kit will be built as is and will join a small swarm of Gundam kits above my painting desk. Those are just for fun. I haven't tried my hand at any conversions or paint jobs on my Gundam kits yet, mostly out of lack of inspiration to do so. I'm not ruling it out in the future, though.

I should have some pics soon (my twitter gets more WIP pics ) Closing in on some completion after a weekend of hateful painting.
Meanwhile, I have no idea what to do for basing. I was hoping to find some nice clean looking metal decking style bases, but the only ones I've found are a little... lacking. Scale makes it a problem. I'd rather not scratch build to maintain as much similartity as possible. Anyone have suggestions/links?

Well, a little later than I hoped as I've had trouble again with my eye, but I slogged through and hate-painted my way to completion. ... minus bases. I did however find some dragonforge bases which piqued my curiosity and I am waiting for them to ship.
In the meantime, I can at least show off a complete paintjob andthereby naming these my Twin Serpents, Lahmu and Lahamu
All arms are magentized, carapace weapons pinned. Most joints aare articulated above the waist.
Once they have been based, I will take some better set pictures, but I'm ecstatic to finish this project. It's been enjoyable but a slog at times. Whereas one medium size model is a time sink, I managed to complete two large walkers in a somewhat reasonable time for myself. A lot of lessons learned here. I'm working on my wash game and continue to practice. Gloss nuln oil is incredible and I'm glad I waited on it, but it does take some learning to know how to use it. My biggest "ugh" are some join lines that did turn out pretty. I've been making a point to work on these over the past few builds and admittedly I slopped a few pieces, but I've learned a couple of things here to improve on. My stencil game has improved manyfold, where I went from using hand cut paper stencils, to third party stencils, to computer aided cutting my own acryllic stencils. I do need to work on my consistency in areas and especially my fuzz, but I have visible improvement between the "first" and "second" knight. I like using the simple color schemes even in these large projects. For these two, I matched my Alpha Legion paint scheme and primarily used three colors the entire time, with a few highlight shades. I may also go back and put in a tension washer in the waist joint later to keep the bodies from shifting so much. The top carapace is unglued, partially for this forethought.

Nice work on the twin Knights, great concept too.
How did that zombie find it's way into the washing machine anyway?

Thanks, EDC, and I wish I knew. I am going to assume I pocketed it for whatever reason and forgot about it while building. I was shocked to find it again after so long.
I'm waiting on a set of these to arrive for basing: Tech Deck Knight Base . Once they've been based, I'd like to get some more proper images. It's fairly difficult to fit these in a lightbox.

Thank you, Boss Salvage. Comparing these to my Alpha Legion predator, my color saturation and contrast have increased, using the same paint and scheme. I'll take that as a positive. I primarily relied on VMA blue, Minitaire envy green, and VMA aluminum for the knights.
