Looks like FFG have done the same thing as happened in Empire at War: Forces of Corruption, added the scum and villainy 3rd faction. I hope they play differently here too! I always was a big fan of Starvipers:

Hey, no one is saying that FFG needs to stop making/doing the galactic civil war. It's just that having ships from the clone wars would be cool too.

And I totally want to have a playable republic faction. If they do do it, I hope they draw from the latter seasons of the Clone Wars show, seeing as they really show the Republic's slow transition to the Empire and the Republic/ Separatists have full access to all of the fun stuff.

On the other side, I am not a big fan of Starvipers, so getting to shoot them will be a bonus.

No, Misthunter is a G-1A transport. G-1a would make a good ship for the miniature game. It was used as a scout ship and light transport by the Rebels and independents through out the rebellion and new republic era.

No, the Most Hunter was, according to Wookiepedia, a modified G-1A Starfighter

Ok. Yeah, the Mist Hunter was his ship. Was looking at my old collection of Decipher SW cards. That ship still looks really familiar.

That's it. Had to Wookieepedia it. It was the starter ship in SW Galaxies.

I wonder if we are going to see Hound's Tooth and Punishing One as part of this new faction? A full bounty hunter fleet would be snazzy.

And yes, a large Imperial ship would be nice to see. I think the Lancer is the smallest ship they could produce for the Imperial faction.

Hounds Tooth is close to being the right size for a Fringe Huge ship.

Dude, I friggin mentioned this name about a month ago in one of the X-Wing "third faction hope" threads. I'm a friggin genius! (No, HBMC did not spoil the name to me).

They need to have a box set of snap together random parts so you can make Uglies.

I am afraid i like this and it will cost me money...

I like X-Wing and allthough i don't need all ships or many of the same type, i like variety and this seems to be variety.

Armada has to compete with other Space Combat systems i play (and will probably lose, being Star Wars is not enough) and Imperial Assault seems to be not 28mm and has to compete with even more ground base gaming systems i play.

No, my money goes to the new X-Wing faction!

Not only was that the best card game ever, it had great Star Wars background and when playing Dark Side i played Bounty Hunters and their ships and AT-ATs.

(i never cared much for Darth Vader... :-)

The Decipher card game had it's problems... but it was an awesome gateway game.

Imperial Assault is basically Descent, with a Star Wars skin... which will be amazing!

It'll be hard to say how Armada is received, but it is clear that FFG is going all in of its Star Wars license... and are feeling more confident in their miniatures production capabilities.

I do understand why they added Armada. I know quite a few players that field squadrons of 9 Tie Fighters, X-Wings etc. on X-Wing level.

For me that looks great, but costs WAY too much money.
For some Armada makes this possible at an affordable level and including everything that is bigger than a Corellian Corvette.

For me X-Wing is exactly what i want it to be, an original, easy and fun take on dogfights, which i would never have collected if these were not Star Wars models.
But i have other game systems for a gametype like Armada.

I'm a wave behind on buying ships, so I might wait for this to come out so I can purchase the y-wing and 2 z-wing box. But I'm all for scum and villainy .

Also just saw the eBay gouging for the decimator , and a guy trying to get $139.94 for the starter box
