Apophis seems dead.

Nagash is now Nekharan god of the underworld so no such thing as tomb kings magic anymore.

Skaven seemed to have taken over Esalia and Tilia in one of the most vauge explanations ever. Seriously, areas as large as the Empire are just taken over and we get like one paraghraph? Just my beef.

Man the bit about Kislev breaks my heart as it's been one of my favorite Warhammer nations!

I gotta say though I've made at least 1 character for every race with full backgrounds and the advancement of the fluff is gonna add some interesting twists to my characters. I'll also be curious to see if this is gonna be a "clean slate" for some of the races, for instance whith King Leon being dead I see that as a segway into alot of changes if the Brettonians ever get a new book.

Any Lizardmen fluff?

A lot of changes for Bretonnia as it is revealed that the Green Knight is in fact Gilles le Breton returned to reclaim the throne.

As for the Lizardmen they get very little fluff. As in one page out of 290. The important part is that Mazdamundi has declared the great plan a failure and that something called "The Exodus" has begun. Guess they decided to cut and run.

Eh no surprise there it's always been rumored that the Green Knight was Gilles.

As for The Exodus makes me wonder if it's off world or just out of Lustria, I can see the Lizards initiating a campaign to destroy the younger races and whipe the slate clean

The Great Plan an Exodus definitely seem to be something that was thought out long before any of this started, and with a name like that I can only hope we get some more info on the Old Ones. Most likely just wishful thinking though

To be honest, I have one suspicion re the Lizardmen as to how they may end up 'levelling up' for the end times - Nagash has fundamentally changed the laws of magic and the nature of life, death and undeath. I can't help but wonder how this affects lord Kroak....

Y'know, in the 40K thread there's a debate as to what GW is going to do once they update all the codexes for 7th Edition (they only have 3 left to go). Somebody suggested a new race, which we all laughed at, but now I read this "Exodus" stuff and I think.... what if that's the plan? Move the Lizardmen into 40K?

Awesome thread, guys! I am definitely going to buy the book! It's pretty exciting to have relevant, impactful fluff.

I AM hoping for some "Primarch Level" characters, though, especially with the Level 5 mastery of Nagash. I want to see some other Uber-heroes rise up to meet him. I missed "Hero Hammer" so maybe I am just not "getting it" in terms of game impact, but seeing Nagash got blown up by a cannonball in that last fantasy battle report, they are not unkillable.

Anyway, go heroes!

This all sounds pretty awesome. I wish they'd do something similar for 40k

And in reference to this (I know it's off topic, but...), I went to Nottingham this summer and some of the writers got asked this directly. "Will the timeline move on?" And the answer was "no"--they are happy with the universe where it is.

So it's exciting to me to see Warhammer moving the story along.

Didn't Harkon die when when Vlad turned his dragon against him after the Blood Dragons turned to Chaos? I've just started the section where Nagash marches against the Tomb Kings, so I wasn't sure if he somehow came back.

As I've said in previous posts, I hope they don't do the same thing for 40k. And what you just mentioned solidified that opinion. I do NOT wanna see Primarchs. Period. Not just because I hate SM and think the Imperium doesn't need more stuff, but also because they would be EXTREMELY powerful, and what would the Xenos get? Exactly....

We already have Primarchs in 40K thanks to Forgeworld. With Lords of War being a part of the regular game, I don't see any real issues with the Primarchs being in the game as long as they are priced appropriately. In all honesty, they should be at the level of your standard greater daemon, possibly a bit more. Say the killy-ness of a Bloodthirster, the utility of a Lord of Change, and the endurance of a GUO all in one artificer armour package.

I personally would LOVE to see this sort of thing happen in 40K. Since End Times is more or less a heavy retcon of Storm of Chaos, why not continue with the current retcon of Eye of Terror and give us a 40K version of End Times.

There are two Harkons, Walach Harkon, of the Blood Dragons who switched sides and went with Chaos and became undead dragon food, and Luthor Harkon, who is the lord of The Vampire Coast in Lustria. He gets some "screen" time in the assault on Khemri. I think he actually bails Manfred out when he is getting beaten by the Tomb Kings.

Is there a possibility my favourite vampire of all time Abhorash returns and takes action?

Edit: Also I originally thought this Lizardmen Exodus thing was the Slann giving up hope and simply wanting to destroy themselves since there is no longer a motive to exist if the great plan failed. Now I imagine (hope to god) that it means the entire kingdom will march out on a path to destroy every being on the planet as a means to start a fresh.

I just started reading Kinslayer the latest Gotrek and Felix novel and it takes place during the End Times.

So far Erengrad has been annexed into the Empire.

The Tzarina hasn't been confirmed as dead, there are still Keslivite forces fighting against Chaos.

Gotrek was at Praag when it fell, also Kislev fell to Chaos before the Empire even had a chance to hear of the attack.

Felix is working for Kurt Helborg making propaganda about the war.

The Skaven have moved into the south and are absent from the Northern cities (possibly due to Estalia and Tillia?).

The Empire is taking a "The enemy of my enemy" stance as they have given individuals the rank of General knowing they are Vampires.

The Troll King Throgg has taken control of Praag.

There is little to no communication coming from Brettonia.

High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer has allied the Dwarves with the Elves to combat the forces of Chaos.

There is a great wall of magic created by the Wizards of the Empire that is literally keeping Chaos at bay.

Jesus I really need to buy the book, why does everything I read about the End Times manifest into a warhammer wet dream? Hype for Archaon's book rising chaotically.

What I want most though? Art work of all these epic moments, a mass Skaven invasion, Chaos decimating the Kislev armies, Gilles revealing himself. Really hope to see some of this stuff in picture.

There are quite a few re-used art pieces from current/old army books and rule books, but there are a number of new pieces that are absolutely stunning. The one that portrays the moment that Nagash is re-summoned is particularly vivid. There are also some pretty cool panoramic style battle scenes re-created with painted models that are nice.

Everything will be fine, I foresee. I won't spoil anything just incase you wanted to read through, but A LOT of stuff is happening and the Humans are nowhere near out of the fight.

The last page was an amazing ending to a well done book, IMHO. I will definitely pick up all the others, just for the story alone.

To anwser a couple questions

q: hope they do this to 40k
a: No 40k sucks

q: Ogres:
A: they marching into the fight ogre wars!!!!

q: settra dead)?
A: nope he is at the end of the book talking to a voice maybe trying to bring rebirth to tomb kings

My theory is this:

This book made all undead join froces so get ready for some wet dreams.

Nagash gets : tomb kings/ vamps
Archon gets : Beasts daemons warriors.
Malaketh/testicles gets: high/dark elves
Karl franz/ dawrf king/ brets get those 3 armies
Ogres will become mercs and can join froze probly with anyone who will take em
Ocrs are looking for a fist of grok and a hand of mork....so bigger badder orcs goooo

Sorry to get off topic but how is Kinslayer?

So far I like it it brings the series up to date and actually gives alot of information about Gotrek from his time before becoming a Slayer (and finally the reason behind it). Plus the fact that it takes place during the End Times is giving alot of insight into the current situation, it also brings back alot of old G&F characters so I like it but then again I've always been a fan of the series.

Sooo how mad is Tyrion going to be about:

Spoiler:
his daughter being tortured for months and then killed and his brother allowing it?

re Kinslayer - do they bother sorting out that some of the previous books were set are around the narrative around the original storm of Chaos

Is Ulrika mentioned in the ccntext of the End Times/Nagash or Countess Gabriella?
