Cheers mate,

Its good to see that he is limiting himself to only casting 65 and that spread out over more than year, hopefully that is an achievable goal. Though I am sure it will cause some rage.

I can't see the rewards tab for some reason, but that price makes sense for the size of the kit, imo.

However, with how delayed the Netherlords he just made were, I'm still a bit pessimistic about the timeline he's projecting. He really needs to show he can deliver even close to on time for these big sculpts he queues up many orders for at once, and then struggles with fulfilling for years after. It's awesome that he does fulfill them in the end, but there's got to be a better way...

Well it should just be a question of casting rather than sculpting from scratch so one would hope that it would be massively quicker. One of the issues with the Monsters kickstarter was that Andy went back and resculpted alot of stuff (including both Netherlords) and the other bigger pieces were sculpted from scratch (Giant and Madam). This time round it should be a simple matter of making moulds and pouring resin (as well as resculpting detail lost pulling the moulds like the spines) and at a rate of 5 a month which is what the pledge tiers equate to that should be well easy. After all its not like he is rolling in orders normally else he wouldn't have to beg so often.

The rewards tabs are the alt head at 25gbp then batches of ten dragons every two months until December '19 and a pledge of five dragons to go out by Christmas.

i remember a post of his at CMON where someone said how can CMON do so well with their massive crazy detailed dragon, etc. and he said well CMON probably gets it cast in china for super cheap. the CMON ceo then replied, they actually use a caster in USA (for their large resin stuff).

Its too bad andy couldnt find a better place to cast that dragon the first time around, but i guess overhead for that may have been too much for him as an initial cost.

it is a nice dragon. not in the top 3 available IMHO, but certainly top 10.

if he could get that done in plastic, that would rock

Sanjay

Speaking of CMON, I bought their Joan of Arc dragon for $65, and I’m pretty sure it’s bigger than this one and just as awesome. I know you can’t compare the CMON juggernaut to a one-man operation, or PVC and resin, but... well, money is money.

It's live:

At the very bottom is a tier for a pre-Christmas dragon (limit 3) for 15 pounds extra. This isn't readily apparent, but if I wer had the funds that's definitely worth it, imo - takes out the risk of the long queue time.

I'm in the same boat, got the JoA dragon which was very cheap. Would love to get this (and I'm sure it's worth the money because it's awesome and resin) but it's just more than I can bring myself to spend :(

Fancy changing the thread title mate? Would be nice to help Andy out and make it more visible that he is running this kickstarter.

Funded already! I'm glad he's priced it so that it's hopefully worth the effort this time around. Those 3 early ones went quick . Imo, this is all about getting early in the queue!

All the first and second and waves now filled, but god help us Andy is talking about sculpting stuff. Some people never learn.

66 Hours left on this project and Andy is making an Alt head that will be unlocked if people buy three more dragons. I cant figure out how to embed the pic but here is a link;

I'm so glad he's figured out how to monetize it effectively this time. The saga of the original production run is heartbreaking.

I love that new head! And agreed, it's much better for him to sell less of them, but for what he needs to make production worth it.

I have just started a new thread for Heresy so that I can keep it upto date and change titles with out having to hassle mods to do it for me.
