Alright! I was too tired to paint yesterday, but today I managed to sneak in a couple of hours despite visitors that occupy our hobby room. I recently bought an awesome paint station from hobby zone, so I simply carried the whole thing to the living room and I was set!

So what did I do? Well, I highlighted all the bone parts! ...except I cheated and skipped the underside. I'll get back to that at a later date, promise... The process is very simple, white highlights first, then heavily watered down screaming skull to blend the white with the ushbati bone. Obviously this is still a bit sloppy as you can see, but I think it works for tabletop quality. Anyway, only gems and transfers to go! So psyched to get a result of "partial success" this week!

Where? Show me where and I'll call you a liar!

That is a beautiful piece of work and I can see nothing that I would define as "sloppy".

Well done on the success

I'm done, that's it. I was so bored with the model and I though "this needs more squiggly stuff on it". So I put three aspect runes on it (Fire Dragons, Dark Reapers, Banshees) to signify the most common passengers, and freehanded a craftworld rune on the left, my first ever freehand. Don't know if I improved the look but it came out okay. The gems are painted quite sloppily because I HATE painting gems and can never get good at it. Anyway, I'm DONE! Would love some constructive criticism.

Really sorry for the lack of updates! To be frank, the new of all the buffs in the new Eldar codex sort of disheartened me, as I was hoping to finally be able to play without the opponent sighing as I put certain units on the table or told him of the myriads of great special rules we have. I've gotten over it largely, and am actually quite looking forward to creating an all-Aspect army (without any jetbikes or Wraithknights) with all the new fun rules the Aspects have!

So what have I been doing? Well, the challenge itself is well and truly screwed. This week I haven't been doing much at all, truth be told.

I have painted my display board/carrying tray for the tournament, and it fits great!

I have also finished ONE (1) Dire Avenger as a test model, since there's really no point in trying to do them all at once anymore:

I'm super pleased with how he turned out, so expect to see more Dire Avengers after the tournament! I will probably convert this into my general Eldar blog.

I have also done a little basecoating of the unfinished Guardians (8 of them, I'm sure you can identify them among the other Guardians in the photo), since they are the least finished thing in the army.

Dont get disheartened, slow progress is better than no progress
