We can hope it comes back as a formation bonus at the very least.

What do I want? No more storm shields, grav spam, or biker troops.

What do I expect? Buffs to scouts or some other random unit no one regularly uses and no useful nerfs.

I generally agree with the biker troops point. That said, I don't think it's unique to space marines. If you're on a bike, you're not a troop. You're fast attack. You should fill a fast attack FOC slot. Period.

What I want? Demicompany to remain mostly the same, probably a point drop for many of the more iconic options for them. And Cents and Bikes getting a firm kick in the keester.

What I expect? Anything in Power Armor, unless its a bike, to get nerfed. While Cents and Bikes get buffed. Although Bikes won't be troops anymore.

Marines should be Marines!

(I'd love Melta-toting ASMs, but wouldn't count on it).

Not with the new Eldar codex. They need buffs now.

I would also really like better Terminators. Maybe give them at least a small token buff like FNP or +1 attack for taking them in a formation.

I just want centurions to go inside another bigger suit of armor to become gargantuan creatures with S: D bolters and chainswords for 250 points.

Assault marines to get something similar to banshees to become more attractive.
Dreadnoughts to become more durable.
Terminators to get point drops or considerable fixes.
Grav bikes to get nerfed.
Land raiders to get significant point drops.

They'll put centurion exo-armor inside another exo-armor, call it Knighturion, make it garganaught MC. Will shoot S: D blasts, hit with s10 in mellee, jump around the map and stomp stuff to death. Will be a LOW but get a formation that allows you to take 1-12 if you also take a squad of scouts. Knighturion will cost like a min squad of terminators. Terminators won't change.

Well, let's make it easy, shall we?

- A superb, 110 point Dedicated Transport. Rhino Serpent!
- Bikes as troops that can take special weapons on every model. Mudriders!
- Terminators that do scary damage. Terminator Guard!!
- Librarian formation that gives them crazy WCs. Libby Council!
- Special formation dropping allied-in Imperial Knights by 100 points.

And presto, Space Marine version of CWE. Then they can go and reprint all the other books and give similar buffs to all the factions. See, everyone wins.

How about instead of the Centurian "Space Marine Inside a Space Marine", we bet the Mega Centurian, a terminator inside a bigger terminator!!! St D thunderhammer, or St D mega stormbolter!!!

I wonder if GW checks random forums to get ideas on new units.

Expect:
Calgar into Lord of War, I doubt that the other Chapter Masters will, but who knows.
Small points drop (1 point) on tactical marines
Vehicle formations, as per rumours. Expecting some D weapon utility here, maybe something like a Vindicator formation that may choose to forfeit individual shooting to shoot an apocolyptic str D blast

Want:
Salamanders to be able to take heavy flamers in tac units. If Blood Angels can, Salamanders surely should be able to!

I want the the Marines to have:

Power Armor: 3+ and 6++.

Geneseed: Add 1 to FNP (to a 2+ maximum). Iron Hands will have 5+ FNP.

Grav-weapons become AP3.

Reduced cost for Terminators.

Tank Hunter and Monster Hunter upgrade for Devastators.

Tac squads can have Heavy Flamer.

The Flesh Tearers CM in the BA book was a LoW, so why would it be any different? Maybe generic CMs will have some kind of special rule chart they can roll on to make them more unique.

My wishlist:

-Make scouts and tactical marines at least somewhat more enticing or fun to use.

-Would like to see something like a sicaran battle tank in the codex; essentially a costly/decisive space marine leman russ.
Possibly a sicaran without sponsons or hull bolter, but instead a really shooty turret loadout with some options.

-Put stuff from forgeworld into codex.

-Make assault marines worth existing, give em ability to DW pistols, or have some other interesting thing.

-Somehow help me better rationalize the existence of the centurion fluff/crunch-wise.

-Make Land Speeder storm useable. Give me a reason to buy one, because I really want to buy and have one. Just can't justify it atm.

-Also maybe just more units and fluff at least to give me more scratchbuilding abilities, just because.

Arent Sicarans relatively rare as feth?

I rather not see 1-3 of them every game.

its also kinda mean to dark eldar who dont really need the abuse.

Now having special venerable upgrades for specific type campaigns to hand out special ability to various tanks and dreads would be AWESOME

My biggest hope is that it doesn't get released; the current book is in no way defective, incompatible with the game or even in need of 'fixing' ( not that that happens often anyway). It is balanced, extensive, complete and completely satisfactory; there is very little a replacement could add that would not be change for the sake of change, or made purely to sell more books.

I expect the usual; Formations (which I personally don't like in their current form), characters moved to LoW slots, and the removal of FoC shifts ( fair enough in the Unbound Age).

I can't honestly think of anything that would actually make the book better, either for the game or as a product in its own right.

This. The book really doesn't need a change, and I really hope GW realizes that they can add or switch up an army WITHOUT a massive book shift. Just release some formations. I would LOVE to see some cool, new Space Marine formations, especially concerning some of the odder additions like Deathwatch, Legion of the Damned or even simple stuff like Dreadnought talons, cool Scout formations or even things like Devastator Companies, etc. While sure there are new things that have been added to books like Blood Angels that aren't in the current Space Marine book (like LoW Chapter Masters, no FOC changes and other streamlined stuff) none of those are in a DIRE need to be added in, and I would be sad to have to get another $50 book just for a few minor changes and a handful of formations that could just be in White Dwarf issues.

As for brand new things? I really can't think of any. Short of adding something like the Thunderhawk as a LoW (THAT...might be a bit much. And it is already in Forgeworld rules...) there really isn't much to add to Space Marines. The Centurion Armor from the current book was an odd addition fluff wise and even that was digging a bit to find a new model to produce. Instead, I think they should focus on new and interesting combination of models like formations.

Few thoughts on Formations:

If Dark Angels got incorporated into Space Marines (at this point, certainly could be. Honestly, Space Wolves and Grey Knights are the only non-Chaos marines that have a LOT of differences that couldn't be covered in Chapter Tactics or Formations.

So for Deathwing and Ravenwing, which are Dark Angels main big thing, perhaps something like this.

Deathwing Formation:

1 Terminator Captain/Librarian/Chaplain
3+ Assault or Tactical Terminator Units

One unit must be upgraded to a Command Unit for X points. That unit gain a Company Banner and Apothecary.
Any unit besides the Command Unit can be upgraded to Knights for X points. (they gain all the differences in stats and rules of the Deathwing Knights)

The Ravening then can share a formation with White Scars

The Roaring Hunters formation:

1 Captain on Bike
3+ Space Marine Bike units (must be at least 5 models each)

All bikes gain the Skilled Rider and Scout rule.
One unit must be upgraded to a Command Unit for X points. That unit gain a Company Banner and Apothecary.

The problem then comes with giving the White Scars the Knight rules for their bikers. Especially the Plasma Talons (which are awesome).

Just some thoughts on the possibility. Would love a Librarius Conclave for Space Marines, but that's not a BIG deal as I can always just take said formation into a Space Marine army, losing out on Chapter Tactics for just those few characters.

Stuff a centurion into the baby carrier of the dreadknight, then stuff that into another centurion.

Only 2 names possible: Dredgeknight or Doughnought.
