Thanks all for highlighting this

Actually think sales in the comp game section might help it - rather than being next to ones for model railway and boat building, which will generally get a different demographic (and people who won't be interested in the kind of stuff you have featured on the mag cover).

Great stuff, do look forward to this mag being released!

Agreed. The tone is nicely balanced between enthusiasm and fair criticism, and it's all well presented. Given the price and the fact it's quarterly I'd like to see them up the page count a bit, but to be fair man-dollies and boardgames is still pretty niche, and it's amazing anyone manages to make a £ or two on printed matter these days. I hope it's around for some time,

Good new issue - was surprised to see the mag for sale in a prominent place next to the daily newspapers in one of those Tesco mega-size stores. Don't think I've ever seen a hobby magazine in such a prominent spot, no excuse for not getting hold of one now (in the UK at least!)

COULD YOU BE THE NEW EDITOR OF TABLETOP GAMING MAGAZINE?
Rob the current editor of Tabletop Gaming here. I just wanted to get in touch to let you know about a very exciting opportunity to become the new editor of Tabletop Gaming magazine.
When I came up with the idea for the magazine, I wanted to create a publication that celebrated this wonderful hobby of ours and included a mix of fantastic content that gave you a glimpse into the minds of some of the world’s best games designers, alongside reviews of the greatest games and exclusive content you can’t get anywhere else.
That was back in late 2014 and now, after five issues (and a sixth currently in production), it’s time for me to hand over the reins to someone else, as they take the magazine to the next level. It wasn’t an easy decision - because I’ve loved every moment of producing Tabletop Gaming so far - but I’ve got the opportunity to do something else within the hobby that I’m equally as passionate about… sadly, you won’t be getting rid of me that easily.
Making such a high quality magazine is hard work, and you’ll need to roll a lot of dice, but the positives are well worth it. If you think you’ve got what it takes, then take a look at the job description (http://ttgami.ng/2ai9SAR) and good luck with your applications.

Between this and the WD jobs seems there's plenty of cool opportunities for people who want to get into the industry.

Ouch. Does it not have a proper release in Aus then?

I ask as I know the cost of imported magazines. I usually end up buying NFL magazines from an airport or such like and the prices are horrendous due to this.

Its not cheaper than the UK cover price, £4.99, but I doubt it would translate to $15 for you.

Absolutely!

It's a damned fine mag, and deserves success.

Was shocked to see it as a highlighted new release in one of those humongous Tesco mega-stores Newport (South Wales) as well, which is a good indication.

It feels like it was only last month that we were getting excited about issue 7 of Tabletop Gaming… oh, wait! It was!

As we step up to being a bi-monthly magazine, we’re very happy to announce that the next issue of Tabletop Gaming is now just ONE WEEK away – and you can pre-order your copy or subscribe right now!

As if you couldn’t contain your excitement enough (we certainly can’t – and we’ve been looking at the contents for weeks!), it’s another fantastic issue with some of our best exclusive features, interviews and reviews yet.

Our big cover feature – and what a glorious cover it is – is our exclusive chat with designer Taylor Smith and Space Goat Productions as they prepare to launch the official board game of legendary cult horror flick Evil Dead 2. It’s their very first game – but certainly not their last, so we also take the opportunity to chat about the newfound publisher’s next big projects.

We also talk to the founder of British outlet River Horse following the release of its adaptation of the David Bowie movie Labyrinth last year. The publisher isn’t waiting around to release its next big game, heading into Equestria with its ambitious My Little Pony RPG and already working on a spin-off of hit film franchise The Hunger Games this year.

In the next instalment in our every-popular Making Of series, we speak to League of Legends developer Riot Games and designer Chris Cantrell to see how they transformed the world’s most popular video game into instant tabletop classic Mechs vs Minions.

There’s also a lot more RPG talk, including our regular roundup of the upcoming releases you should be paying attention to in 2017 and an in-depth exploration of Lovecraftian Call of Cthulhu descendant Delta Green with its creator. Towards the back of the mag we’ve kicked off a brand new column, offering advice on how to build your ideal roleplaying world.

Plus, we take a good, long look at the role of diversity in some of the top board games around and examine why allowing anyone and everyone to identify with characters in a tabletop universe matters.

We’ve also got the latest and greatest games played and reviewed, including SeaFall, Arkham Horror: The Card Game, Scythe, Blood Bowl 2016, Conan, Star Wars: Destiny and Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s the exclusive designer reviews you’ve come to expect, including chats with Reiner Knizia, Ted Alspach, Mike Elliott, Max Temkin, Rob Daviau, Eric Lang and Spyfall creator Alexandr Ushan, to name but a handful.

Oh, and did we forget to mention that there is an EXCLUSIVE BOARD GAME published right inside the magazine itself? Designed by the creator of Frostgrave, Barbarian Hack is a pithy dice-rolling time-filler that only requires some dice and tokens (just use coins!) to play, because the board is printed in full in February’s issue – for free!

I saved the last one for a long train journey just yesterday, I think it's an excellent read.

I would prefer longer and more in-depth game reviews, but I really like the tone, which feels like a celebration of all things table top throughout.

It is great to see new magazines releasing.

I have have picked up two issues of this magazine so far and though it was well produced and with plenty of content. It even has the staple battle report of a miniatures mag to enjoy.

Personally I don't think I will be making it a regular purchase.
Maybe it is just the issues that I have read, but the focus of the magazine seems to be reviewing board games (which I don't play very often) and digging into the game design behind them (which I don't find terribly interesting) however if that sounds like your sort of thing then I would recommend giving it a try!

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Really must make an effort to keep this thread updated.

Tabletop Gaming has now become a monthly release. Time will tell if it's a good move, but at the very least it means you get fairly up to date reviews and news about stuff in the world of gaming.

Format is similar to before, probably 75% board or card games, 25% miniature games - although I think there is less silo-ing of games types than ever now, so plenty that I think would interest most people on the forum.
This month you have a pretty good 6 page feature on the new Fallout Wasteland Warfare miniature game, some reviews including a Massive Darkness, Civilisation: A New Dawn, Betrayal at Baldur's gate and Corvus Belli's new Infinity tie-in Aristeia!. There's also a pretty big feature on RPGs if that's your thing, and a painting guide in the back for Mantic's new Star Saga game.
