I am terribly sorry to read of his death - he was one of the sanest people upon these boards, and always informed his opinions.
May he rest in peace, the world is lesser for his passing.

Found a site and put this map together for the family based on the flags of people who have posted in this thread. No coloring for frequency of a given nation appearing, but a way for them to be able to appreciate the number of lives MWHistorian touched around the world and to know they're not alone in their loss:

My condolences as well.
I was not a regular reader of his blog (and have not read any of is novels, for that matter) but I liked his passionate drive for creativity and his active interest in other cultures and history.
As a regular contributor, and not a light one, he will surely be missed in this forum.
