I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and I enjoyed his many posts, especially in the sister threads.
He will be missed.
I hope you and the rest of his family take some time to look after yourselves this this difficult time. Sudden deaths can be very hard on the survivors. Please be kind to yourselves and take care of all of your needs in this time especially the simple ones like eating, and sleeping (as best you can).

What a gutpunch. Seeing his username in the N&R led me to think there was an announcement about his history blog.
He was a valued poster and always argued from a logical and consistent viewpoint.

We're at a loss with his passing, BTW. Knowledgeable, a great poster, and as eloquent a writer as I've read in a while.
A loss to us all.

As with others, my condolences on your loss. There are only a handful of names I pay attention to on the forums but that was one of them. His back-and-forth discussions on various topics were always interesting; even if I didn't agree with his viewpoints, he was always eloquent in expressing them.

I may have not agreed with lots that MWHistorian posted, but his posts always meant the thread was trotting along well.
