I think you're reading far too much in to my comments.

It's just before this poll, if someone had of asked me what size games I think most people like to play, I probably would have guessed 1850+, and 1850 simply because it's become a bit of a standard, otherwise I would have guessed 1500+ or 2000+. I would not have guessed most people would have been below 1500pts (especially on this forum more so than IRL).

Most? Less than 1500 and 1500-2000 are tied in the poll
52% say they prefer < 1500pts by this poll, 87% below 2000pts and only 13% above 2000pts

Or, 52% say they prefer < 1500pts by this poll and 48% prefer >= 1500 points. I still wouldn't call that most, that's pretty even, especially since Medium (1250-1500) 30% [ 59 ]
Large (1500-2000) 34% [ 68 ].

Plus the poll is ambiguous. If you like 2000 or 1500 which option are you supposed to pick?

I suspect that a good chunk of the 1250 to 1500 are playing at 1500.

Yea I wish 1500 would have had its own along with the other most popular points brackets (1250,1500,1850,2000). I was not sure which to pick.

Anything greater than 50% is "most" It might change as more votes come in, but I'm not going to argue the semantics when the numbers are there, I meant what I meant and anyone who can add and subtract can see what I meant.

Yeah, it would be nice if the brackets were broken down a bit better, but it is what it is and it still adds some insight.

I was thinking about making a new post with a normalized interval to choose from let's say 250 interval points ?

I don't think it's the point size that matters so much as having plenty of units.

That said, I do have a penchant for 600-750 point games.

You can bang out 3 of those real quick, which makes for fun mini campaigns where you get to build a little narrative between the battles.

I prefer 'restricted' 750-1250pt games.
Restrictions in place so that people don't bring superheavies or all flyers or something.
The games go significantly quicker, there's a lot more 'oh this probably won't work but YOLO' moments, and there's a lot less cheese possible with formations etc. It is POSSIBLE to create some terribly unbeatable matchups if you don't restrict what people take somewhat, but if you're playing like-minded armies I find the games can be much closer than larger games.

I think a lot of it is mindset. People playing the low points games tend to see them as less 'serious' than the bigger 1750-2000pt 'tournament' games.

At my desk

1850 tends to be my regular game when I have a few hours. Sometimes 2500 if I've got a whole afternoon and feeling like a big game.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

2000 points and up. But that just might be me missing playing apocalypse sized games... haven't been able to play any in two years now.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

750-1250 is the sweet spot for me - quick game, room to maneuver, not over-complicated, actual decisions over what to take.

It's normally 1500-2000 for me. We did have an escalation league last year that went from 250 points to 2000 points with a big apocalypse team game at the end
