Unfortunately wolf guard with bikes can get pricy fast if you give them any upgrades other than a couple combis. Which is unfortunate, I hope the power weapon point decrease that SM have will be available to non-codex chapters because it actually makes then viable so you don't have a 50 point 1 wound biker.

I doubt it. Could you imagine the outrage if Thunderwolf Cavalry got cheaper load-outs?

He didn't mention TWC. Giving the cheaper gear to Wolf Guard seems completely fair to me. It gives them a purpose and fits the fluff.

Three things though. Weaponry pricing for the Space Wolves is the same across the board, Thunderwolf Cavalry are Wolf Guard riding wolves and historically what has gone into effect for the Wolf Guard has gone into effect for Thunderwolf Cavalry.

Weapon pricing was across the board for SM too. Want to argue fluff? Both vanguard and wolf guard have increased access to special weapons therefore they should both have the discounted price. Doesn't happen to TWC because they get mounts.

In the fluff Thunderwolf Cavalry are Wolf Guard with wolf mounts.

So you're suggesting a bike isn't a mount? You don't just buy Wolf Guard on bikes like Sky Claws or Swift Claws you buy Wolf Guard as a squad then buy bikes as a mount upgrade for the squad, so if you're saying that having mounts might prevent them getting the discount then Wolf Guard on bikes won't get the discount.

We weren't talking about foot slogging Wolf Guard, we were talking about mounted Wolf Guard.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I wouldn't really care about TWC. They do fine as is. Perhaps next edition they'll need the buff though.

Power armour wolf guard is the biggest problem, at least twc has t5 and 2 wounds so they're worth the point investment.

No I forgot about the bike because I never use them.

There's one time I invest in Wolf Guard. I sometimes run a squad along with a Wyrdstorm Brotherhood, they have Jump Packs one has a pair of Wolf Claws and the others have Bolt Pistols and Storm Shields. I'll generally take a dig at Sanctic Daemonology with two Jump Priests and whichever gets Sanctuary joins the Jump Guard. 200 points for a fast moving unit of 2++ saves tends to pay for itself pretty quick, best day I had was when both priests got Sanctuary and one racked up Hammer Hands as well. Damn near unstoppable.

Bikes cost more but that +1 toughness might seal the deal...
