I finally bought myself a box of 'super dungeon explore' and I can't break myself away from painting the cute models. So my entry this month is one or a few of the models below.

Awwww those are soo cute! which box did you get Moolet? I've been considering that game a bit

Automatically Appended Next Post:

(Messy desk sorry)

Just put some reaper brown liner on the Dingos (behind the dog....) waiting to dry so I can do the spots I held them on. Then some actual paining will ensue =D

They are from the forgotten king starter set. I played the arcade mode once a week ago with some friends and loved it. So I immediately bought myself a copy. You get a ton of figures and I found it for fairly cheap on amazon. The figures need a good amount of clean up and in some places a little re-sculpting but the style is a nice change of pace from 40k =)

I'd recommend the game very highly if you have a group of friends who enjoy a bit of silliness yet there is still plenty of game mechanics to make it quite tactical.

Ratius: I'll agree, that's quick work, and rather neat too.

On my project for the month:
WIP of one of the three ships. Not sure I like the result, think I may need to go very wide edge highlight and then narrow one, or possibly just use the middle red as the base instead.

starting to remember how I stopped working on my stompa twice over the past couple of years...stompas are big!

upside though, I think I am further along, and to a better standard, than my past attempts, so that's something

hooboy though, there is still sooo much more smaller detail-work and weathering and such left to do to it...I'm gonna need all of the next two and a half weeks I think!

not much point posting more pics yet though, it doesn't look that different to my last pic, aside from I've taken the arms, head and exhaust rack off to paint separately, and redone all the metal parts...maybe in a couple of days...

@ZoBo, use a bigger brush!

Only half joking actually, I have actually managed to paint one of my Stompas, by judicious use of a large dry brush to do rusty metal!

I used a 1" brush for the bulk-work on the body ...I'm picking out all the smaller details now though, which a big brush just won't work for...and there's a surprising amount of small stuff!

Yeah, the level of detail on that kit is pretty amazing.

Update:

Got the track fixed up with plasticard -

I didn't fix up anything else. I want to leave it battered - it's supposed to be thousands of years old after all!

Tried an airbrush for the first time. I definitely need to practice more, but it got the silver base coat down quicker and better than a hairy brush. Didn't quite give me the finish I wanted, but that should come with practice! And any bits that aren't quite right should be covered with washes etc.

Still plenty of basecoating to do before getting to everything else, but hopefully I'll still have time to finish everything up once the basecoats are done.

Dark Angels/Deathwing - just getting started!
Space Marines - Stark Crusaders 4500pts/PL244 (2700pts painted)
Eldar - Biel Tan 2000pts
Space Wolves 1500pts

My Blog - mostly 40k, some HeroQuest

Ultramarine Honor Guard Chapter Champion, with thunderhammer. Final pic.

Mostly built from the new deathwatch box, with a few odds and ends from other spots. Like the shoulder pads from the command squad box, and the tabard and backpack from who knows where (probably a tactical squad box)

Its good to know what your going through, I have a stompa waiting in a drawer for me someday.

Great repair Whittesley, fits perfectly.

I really like the position of that model Nev, has a purposeful stride feel to it.

Minor update from me, just some GS work

Making some slow progress today. Minitiare paints do not work well when brushed on (in fact mighty bad if you get impatient). May have to rethink line highlighting in the grey I bought, as that will take a heck of a long time.
