I got the book and gave it a read through. I hope to try it out with my infinity minis.
Charts and tables are a little daunting, but if I can scan a few pages, could easily make a 2 page quick reference sheet I think.(when and how I will do this who knows)
Took a few reads to get how turns work. Very push your luck so I like that
I was a little disappointed no "Sniper" rifle existed. That's pretty common weapon
I thought I would post how combat works. Specifically I took melee as a example. Hope its fine to post as I'm not posting points or any sort. Figure this is the most thought about thing for a game. I also typed it all out so I understood it step by step.
TN 10 to hit (Game uses d20s)
Weapon Master Level3 +3
Target Weapon Master Level1 -1
TN 10 with a +2 to the d20 roll.
Gets a 13+2 for a 15 total. 5 Above the TN. Result is (per table) Torso or Arm. I Pick Torso (attacker picks)
Target is in Power Armor, so they have 7 Torso Armor. I am using a Monowire Blade with 3 damage base and AP. (So they have 6 Torso Armor)
The defender rolls a d20. Over all the target gets a +3 to the roll (7 Armor - 1 AP -3 Weapon damage)
They roll a 7+3 for the modifier for a total of 10. This is a result of 1 pin and light damage. Light damage to the torso is 1 additional Pin, for a total of 2 pins.
Pretty basic example but they didn't post a example so thought I would.
There are no "wounds" stats. Eventually you'll take so many or get unlucky and the model will die. I found this to be a good mechanic.
Tons of skills and warband types to really pick what you want.
I pointed up 2 4 figure bands. One Aleph lead by Achilles ' and one lead by Joan of Arc. I'm sure I could customize it a bit more to each figure but with the point limit couldn't get it all in.
