Look at DAs. They pay elite prices now. And they're not a dual kit.

GW charges what they think we'll pay. I'm sure the amount of sprues factor in, but I think the FoC and market research play a much larger part.

I don't like the concept of dual kits for dual kit's sake. But when it makes sense, I love it. FW with all 3 weapons options are ideal for a dual kit. Guardians/StormGuardians would make quite a bit of sense. Incubi and Kalabites would make no sense, and ruin at least one unit's look.

One problem with making Hawks all-female to dualkit them with Banshees is that Banshees have the visage of a female, not the body of a female. Compare them to female Guardians or female DAs. At least in my headcannon, that isn't the female form you're seeing.

I hate multi unit kits you end up with so much unusable junk and it costs you twice as much as a dedicated kit to make a full unit.

It shouldn't cost £50 to make a 10 man immortal troop unit, marines get 10 for £25.

I agree with you about having too much unusable junk (well, unsuable for most, I find ways to stretch those bits)
But consider this: Dire Avengers are $35 for 5 models. A dual kit of any other Aspect of 5 models will probably cost the same, or at worse, $40

On a tangent, other aspect warriors are understandable to be costed that much for 5 (and we canadians pay $60 for 5 sternguard btw). However Dire Avengers, being essentially the backbone of Aspect Host armies and Guardians +1 in other armies, really should cost much less.

Which is why I'm hoping that they do eventually reintroduce the 10-DA box under a reasonable price. It'd earn a lot of good will from players, doesn't actually cost development time, and can be touted as another "new" release without getting much backlash.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
