I just read the 10 reasons why article and I don't see why some people are having a meltdown
1. Cheap models- That is a concern for some people and for those that want to do a lot of modeling on a budget. That was one of my favorite things about my goblin WHFB army.
2. Cheap troop choice- a cheap way to fill out detachments is always good. Also, keep in mind that he might be writing thins knowing what the new codex looks like. I have a suspicion that the ork codex is going to be amazing and my guess is you will want as many CP as you can get just like a lot of other codexes we have seen
3. Objective secured- Always nice to have on a unit that might just be sitting on objectives for cheep
4. Better Bullet Catchers- Yup if your going to just sit them on an objective anyway they are cheaper with the same save so i dont see too big of a deal here
5. Foiling Fallback moves- Obviously, if your only goal is to tie things up they are better at this. Id rather do this with boys that can also kill but if you look at it as just for tying things up then yes they are technically better at it (so id put this as the most controversial so far but its not even to crazy)
6. Board Presence - Cheap bodies so this seems true
7. They are the best shooting unit- Im not that familiar with orks but i do know that they typically hit on 5s so if grots hit on 4s its not technically wrong... obviously the target matters so this one is very dependent on what your shooting at
8. They are fearless- always great on units just looking to sit and die
9. They are ork <clan Infantry>- Think this might be his weekest point.... but once again if he's looking with a bit of foresight into the new codex this could be a big deal with some of the chapter tactics they get
10. Gretchin are fun- They are so cant argue that

Obviously looking at 100% competitive obviously boys are better but it doesn't seem like that's 100% whats he's writing about. He seems to be mixing
1. usefulness over editions
2. competitiveness
3. hobby opportunities
4. Flavor
5. Just plain enjoyment found from using the unit
Also remember he wants an article that people are going to take the time to read. Nobody is going to read a boyz are the best ork unit article....Nobody is going to click on something that's super apparent to everyone

People have a meltdown over everything these days. And most of them probably didn’t even read the blogpost and are just assuming that it’s saying you should stop taking Boyz or something asinine like that.

The scariest part is Reece plays Orks, so it's not like he's just speculating on stuff he has no handle on...

Which is agree the scariest part....I don't have a clue what he was thinking when he made those predictions, Kanz would be amazing and the Stompa was too tough to die.....If you actually do the math, a Stompa is EASIER to kill this edition then last edition except against Melta.

Maybe he's just on a level we don't understand with skill and there is some secret mega tek going on. Maybe he accidentally talked about the codex. Or... maybe he just over reacted and didn't think about anything like points or BS or other models that are 1/4 of the points.

1.Meh... cheap is relative but I agree with you here.
2.who knows, this is something we cannot comment too m uh on other than jokes.
3. With elite armies (especially in soup) having rules to negate this tend sto mean i want a troop that can also fight back.
4.they are T3 though it kinda evens out with hoyz as you tend to be able to kill 2 for every 1 boy.
5. Depends. DS boyz or gretchin? Even putting them behind isn't worth much as they're a 9"distance away and most armies play smart with buffer zones now. Also they're S3 as well I think which is not too good for their WS of 5+ (maybe 4+ if they have more troops or something). For 3pts more would rather have boyz.
6. Maybe... but a board full of weak troops with no range outside 12"is still a board full of.... you get my point...
7. No... no they are not the bets shooting. They can have BS3 if you add enough models but their range is short and their s3msingle shots. It's like a line of shotgun conscripts.
8. They're not fearless. In fact they're the opposite and even a single death can mean a moral check. They only become kinda fearless with a runt herder which is another 26+ points. He does d3 mortal wounds to keep you units from running away so you could end up losing 3 per turn based on just 1 or 2 guys dying.
9.meh.
10. They are fun but to say they're the bets unit we have is what we're arguing against here.

Well the article was made when we didn't know much about the index so a biyz article wouldnhave been fine.... Basically your saying he click baited .
