Yeah, I have face many super heavy lists, and then I always put Mind Wipe + the other -1 to hit power in my librarian.

My opponent normally ignores the librarian until in his first turn two of his baneblades are hitting on 5+, or one on 6's

How are you hitting two of his Baneblades on the first turn? You can only use the power once per turn.

Even in open play you would need two librarians, and you need to get them in range.

Sorry, my bad. I didn't realise you were talking about two different powers here!

So with the Dark Shroud and 2 psychic powers you really protect your advancing ravenwing as they use their speed of the raven strat.

A Supreme Command Detachment with Sammael and two Talon Masters along with a Battalion with Interrogator Chaplain, Libby, Dark Shroud, Reilers, Black Knights and scouts could be thrown together for less than 1750. I suppose with such a small body count you'd want to be hard to hit.

Well kind of. The powers still only target one unit each, and the range is still an issue especially if your opponent is screening well.

Dark Shroud is ace though.

Off topic or well maybe not, what do people think of the fortress of shields strat for knights? Also is it used at the start of any fight phase I don’t get the wording

You can use it in any Fight Phase. Note you must declare it at the start of the phase though, not when the opponent actually chooses to fight you!

It's... Ok. Your Knights have a 3++ anyway, so they aren't massively scared of high strength weapons, but if you're about to get hit by a whole squad of guys with power fists it's probably still worth it.

It's only 1cp, so worth remembering it exists even if you don't use it that often.

I actually think it's better when you are getting hit by a ton of low strength hits (nids, orks etc). If you have to make enough saves, you will fail them, but if you can make it harder for them to wound you, in the first place, you have a better chance of survival.

Hmm, in very niche circumstances perhaps. It takes an average of 20 bolter shots from a Marine to do ONE wound on a terminator. 50 lasgun shots from a Guardsman! And that's without the strat.

If you are taking a TON of these shots, maybe. Maybe. But I think it would be very rare for the circumstance to come up where it's worth the CP.

Oh of course sure, but you get my point. Mass normal attacks are not a concern for terminators.

Yeah, Genestealers and Ork Boyz might sometimes be putting out a stupidly high number of attacks that might warrant it. If you're taking like 30+ attacks, a CP is probably is worth it in that situation!

Normally though they're only going to be scared of weapons that do 2+ damage, at least -1 AP, and have a S5+. Or at least 2 out of those 3. If they don't have that, it's going to need to be a LOT of dice before the strat is worth it.
