Thing is FW are UK based and resin is high on manhours in production alone. It might just be that whilst they could hire more staff it wouldn't be cost effective. Meanwhile recasters in countries where comparable wages and costs are vastly reduced (coupled to the fact that they only have to recast they don't have to do any initial design, parting or marketing work).

And yeah smaller scale makes things like quality control a lot easier; esp if its a one-man band or similar recasting setup.

True, I can afford to say this as well I guess paying UK prices.

You are.

That little bit of resin is nothing. Totally par for the course, and FW was 100% correct in denying replacement.

I'd hope that masses of resin bubbling out of their miniatures isn't standard but maybe I've just gotten lucky. Either way, i sent some more pictures and they put in an order for replacements, so that's good.

a single defect smaller than a BB seems typical for resin.

I have dreadnought drop pods with wonky fins and inoperable doors. I have a storm eagle with a front half that barely fit together and had a wonky wing. I have a land raider with a ramp that doesn’t lower and wobbles on the table.

Unfortunately this seems to be the norm with FW, their quality is very hit or miss. To be confronted with a small resin blob on the bottom of a boot that takes 30seconds to clean up is a “problem” I’d much rather deal with than any of the above, and certainly wouldn’t be demanding replacements for such a trivial thing.
