I got two. My group is moving to 9th it seems so I'll need a rulebook and I'll either sell the other or give it to my girlfriend. Might sell off the Necrons, or may start necrons. Waiting to see. One Marine set will get painted up as Blood Angels and the other will either become Imperial Fist or MAYBE I'll start Black Templars with them...

Pound signs? Where? I can see a #, but no £.
# is the pound sign in American parlance.

...so why #hashtags?

This is one of those age test things, "pound sign" came from all the way back when we had hard phones that were exclusively connected to landlines. It was used a lot in TV commercials, and was required since IVRs were not a thing, and automated phone system were tonal. On a related note if you have a spare moment and want to read about one of the dumbest moments in telco history, you should check out how someone got admin access to the US telco system using a toy whistle from a box of captain crunch.

These days, No one under the age of 30 calls it the pound sign, because for the last decade and change it's been co-opted as being the hashtag, which see most of its use in twitter to make tweets easily searchable by subject. It's that obvious show of advanced age, and the unnecessary and aggressive pedantry that made that post so charming, like an angry grandpa telling those damn kids to get their "Pound sign" off of his lawn.

Did not buy it since I A: don't plan on collecting either army in the box for a while and B: even if I did I do not want to encourage the lazy rule design of the primaris in the box, which seems to be whatever everyone else has but +1.

Bought one.

It seems like it's a great way to get my kid and his friend into the hobby and finally explore Necrons as an army.

And speaking of who bought the box, I just got my shipping notifications.

I think this box must have been extremely successful. Hopefully it encourages GW to put great deals in boxes more often - and not just encourages them to make more Primaris

I bought a copy from a GW store in the end.

I've kept hold of the Necrons, Elimiators, Bladeguard and books, and put the rest on ebay. Within a couple of hours I'd effectively got 60% of my money back, with a couple of auctions still to go.

I got one box that arrived this morning. I have marines and my son collects necrons, so it was the perfect set for us.

The sculpts look really nice. Whenever you get to work with any of the newer GW stuff, you notice the extra level of detail that isn't there with older kits.

Bought one and finished painting the 20 Necron Warriors. I am very impressed with the quality of the sculpts. The Core Rulebook is massive. I am surprised they actually included it. One boxset giving 2 x 1000 point starter armies of all new models and a hardback rulebook was money well spent for myself.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Yes. I have bought every boxed game since 3rd. I see no reason to stop on this set. The minis are very well done.

I've held off.
Awful lot of cheap Necron halfs floating about that are sorely tempting - but I have a suspicion they would just sit in the seemingly inexhaustible unpainted plastic pile.

And meta hat on, I'm not even sure many of the necron units in the box are going to be that good. Could be wrong though. Kind of vexed its 2+ months to see the codex, by which time the glut might have shifted.
