As for the original Lilo and Stitch—I’ve never heard anyone in real life hate that movie. Stitch is one of if not THE most beloved Disney character evidenced in merch, bumper stickers, memes and fan art. He’s practically Garfield for Disney.
Same, growing up Lilo and Stich was seen as a decent movie that had its own Disney Channel TV spin off (that was less well received but that was the norm for a lot of the TV sequel series) and it had enough appeal for both boys and girls watching it. It wasn't my favourite by any means but it definitely wasn't the worst.

I'm legitimately worried about them doing that. As far as movies go, you really can't replace Patrick Waburton being so iconic as Kronk and the cartoon zaniness that came with his shenanigans with Yzma. If they go the route of making Kuzco just a literal Llama it'll remove a lot of the comedic elements of the film.

If they make this I'll probably riot unless Waburton's oldest puts on 30lbs and plays the part
Also, it feels hard to get the same impact without spade and goodman who were fantastic. While I will always love Lilo & Stitch it's Emperor's New Groove that holds the ultimate disney animated movie in my heart.

FWIW, Disney is kind of the YouTube gold rush. Most channels that cover.... really anything entertainment related gets most of their audience covering Disney stuff. Even if its not about the movie or show of the moment its probably putting into the thumbnail or framing whatever they want to talk about as something in conflict with whatever the Disney thing is. Its probably less that you got on the negativity algorithm so much as you got on the Lilo & Stitch wave and with the movie not actually out yet, most of what you'll find out there is the opportunist farming the latest generic Disney rage bait.
it would probably own the weekend if not for MI: TFR...

Good, then my secret wishes to see live action remakes of The Hunchback of Norte Dame 1 & 2, The Fox and the Hound 1& 2, Home on the Range, Frozen 1 & 2, and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad might actually come true.

I think they should now reverse the trend, and make animated versions of Herbie the Love Bug, Escape from Witch Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Looking through their live-action remakes is interesting.
Maleficent had middling reviews, but a good box office for the time.
Cinderella had good reviews and a decent box office. I forgot it existed.
The Jungle Book had excellent reviews and fell just short of $1B globally. I remember it being better than the animated version.
I never watched either Alice in Wonderland film, but the first one hauled in $1B. They looked dreadful.
Beauty and the Beast had decent reviews and made $1.2B, but had some mild controversy.
Dumbo was basically a bomb.
Aladdin sucked, but it made $1B.
The Lion King wasn't good either, but it made $1.6B.
Mulan was a disaster and the somewhat positive reviews are insane.
The Little Mermaid was the first one with 'race-swap' controversy and had middling reviews and a mediocre box office.
Mufasa was mediocre.
Snow White was a bomb.
On average, they've been solidly middle of the road, but some of them have made a ton of money. Even if Lilo and Stitch doesn't make a bucket load of money I don't see them giving up the goat just yet.
The only way we can ever solve anything is to look in the mirror and find no enemy

If you are alright with it being updated and different (different bad guys, some characters are split up into different people).
[I need a thesaurus because I can't find another word besides different.]
It was pretty decent, just not as good as the original.
Better than Mulan.
I mean Mulan is a preeeeetty low bar to clear, since that one managed to piss off both fans of the animated version and the Chinese audience they changed so many things to pander to.
This kind of sums up a lot of the problems that was in the movie:
