I still don't have a Codex to buy.

It is weird that - assuming my memory is correct - they previewed the Imperial Knight stuff a fortnight before the Chaos Knight stuff, yet the latter is showing up first on the release schedule.

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

There's a lot of reason to assume that something happened with the Knights releases as a whole that's pushed them back significantly.

As do I. You can't trust the living to give good answers these days.

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

I always get the codex. I hate squinting at my phone screen during a game, or handing over my phone/keeping my phone very still so my opponent can read my rules. Outside of games, it's also more pleasant to flip through a book than scroll down a tiny screen. Just wish the damn things weren't so expensive. Or already outdated on the day they come out.

Is anyone else missing soft cover codices? I'm not sure why I do... They couldn't even be set down flat on the table. Maybe it's just nostalgia.

Why would you do that? Your opponent can just look up your rule themselves.

I hate trying to follow the insanity that is the Tyranid codex. I just ask my opponent, what the heck does that guy do?

Flicking through to get to s rule or whatnot is nicer with paper.
It's quicker (or, is supposed to be) with digital, and should be up-to-date. As you say, is not as satisfying though.

I used to get them but no longer see the point. They go out of date too quick, they're too expensive, there's too much recycled fluff, too heavy and space consuming.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

Wahapedia still hasn't added the new DG codex. It's surprising how often you actually flip open the book when there is no digital version available.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I'm usually much more of a physical book person, but the prices for the current books, that don't even contain much in the way of new material compared to older ones, just are too much to me. Especially after I got the ninth edition Guard book and then, a few months later, it got scrapped. And as an adult, I don't even get that much playtime with it.

So I don't get GW rulebooks anymore because to me, they're just not worth it.

I purchased EVERY book released 3rd through 8th edition. Every codex, every campaign book, etc. But I only got about 10 games of 8th edition in, so I stopped buying. Nothing for 9th or 10th. Really like the smell of a new codex and miss it dearly.
