Those doors make me wish I played DA.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

I wouldn't call it a COMPLAINT, but I kind of wish the Death Angels on the side doors were using the same weapon. I'm just CDO like that.

Well I made them with 3-4 chapters in mind.
Salamanders (the heavy flamer)
Dark angels/generic (the assault cannon)
Grey Knights/Custodes/generic (the front bolter/halbeards and pre heresy armour on the marines)

Since I run both sallies and kniggets you could call me a weak minded egoistic bastard lol

OK, I looked at the stormraven kit like 3 or 4 times now, and I'm still not clear what it does, exactly. Does it just lengthen the cabin, or what?

Those are amazing gun-halberds. Fantastic stuff. And the detail on those death angel doors is incredible. Absolutely amazing.

Wow, those are the coolest side hatches I've ever seen.

And I'll be getting a Stormraven extension kit for sure.

Also waiting for a painted assembled pic of the TRUE-scale Storm Raven. Guess many people are.

BTW Storm Raven uses Rhino Doors, not Land Raider doors, or is the conversion set different?

Personally, I think that's why it will work so great for my BA successor chapter. I use a ton of heavy flamers and assault cannons (plus, if you put it on a LR redeemer, you could see the flamer as a flamestorm cannon), and I'm going to be using the halberd/bolters to represent glaives and angelus boltguns in my sanguinary guard (I never liked the fact that their "glaives" were all swords and axes -- see glaive).

Which brings up a point for Nick: you could also market the halberds as "glaives for space vampire-angel gothic knights."

Those doors look awesome! Gun-halbred look excellent as well! The storm raven pics are a bit hard to decipher. I'm assuming your making the model a good bit longer?

Wow Nick! Huge props on the Angels doors. They are by far the best thing you've churned out to date. They are incredible and I do like the lower door. You should consider selling just that door.

Those halberds would make good weapons for my "counts as" Sanguinary Guard, shame i've already got 2 units made up. Time for a 3rd then

Also tempted by the conversion beamer kit as well.

Very nice!

Good news,

While not enough to fill anywhere near the majority of pre-orders for the Storm Raven TRU-Scale conversion kit or the Wheeled Chimera kit, I received the first 6 and 14 cast of each kit respectively and packed those off to ship tommorow.

Anyone who had ordered the Conversion-Beamer kit and and Gun-Halberd kits (and was not on a long list of waiting SR or Chimera kits) will also ship out tomorrow!

I hope you guys like them.

Stupid Canada Post labour dispute!

Those gun halberds and a few other things are definitely on the list for when that ends and I can get mail again.

Just got a message from CH...my SR tru-scale kit is shipping today!!! Very impressed, and thank you for the courtesy email, Nick.

My SR kit from Maelstrom is due early next week as well, so perfect timing. (Bought it in their "GW to Rest of World Closing Down sale." AU$110 here, AU$53 from Maelstrom...feth you, GW.)

(Love the GW models, hate the GW company...)

Any chance we can have any arbite type heads, maybe we could call em, judge head?

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

The package came today and at first blush I was really impressed. The detail on the SR parts is a perfect match and there was almost none of the "fell through a black hole" warping so common to Forge World's resin. Then I realized there were no instructions for the Storm Raven conversion and the two hull sides of the wheeled Chimera are different lengths.

Now the lack of instructions for the SR I can live with, after all the parts are reasonably obvious and I've been building models since LBJ was president. But the differing length hull sides are just awful. There was nothing about any of the web images that showed this design "choice" and I've got to say it ruins the whole thing for me. The unbalanced look is just weird.

Heaven knows I love a lot of CHS's other bits, but the Chimera is a non-starter and will be going to eBay this evening. Very disappointing.

Woah now that sounds disappointing. Can you post up some pics?

Did you get an email saying that you were getting your kits. I haven't heard a thing.

Are you sure the different sizes aren't a mist cast or mistake?

Um, don't they have to be different lengths, because the left side of the hull (with the HB mounting) is shorter?

Ever actually built a Chimera?

You are more then welcome to return your unsatisfactory kit for a refund. From the positive reception I have had from other purchasers of the Chimera kit, it seems more like personal preference on your end.

One side of the hull has to be longer slightly then the other since the Chimera front hull is longer on one side then the other due to the GW design. The wheel locations and the back hull are both in the same location. (as shown in this prototype photo). Only the front is longer on the ride side.

Thank you for the email letting me know your concerns.
