Haha! Exactly!

Thanks, guys. I'll try to get them varnished up and ready to roll with some decentish pictures. These are definitely not the same caliber, I would say, as my Escher. I am going to start working with those Forge World bitz tonight.

@Knightley- I've seen the minis and I've seen me. So, I'll go with me.

@Zambro - It isn't a super tight ruleset. It requires some certain amount of common sense. On the whole, I actually really like it. The alternating activation mechanic along with the 2 actions mechanic are really great for a small squad skirmish game. I played the original to death and I think that it really solves certain issues it had.

MOON!

It is so nice to see you post. Its nice to see progress. This almost motivates me to take pictures of my WIP. I like the Goliath guys. Have you put any of those forgeworld bits to use yet? Maybe some day we will have painted gangs again. I look forward to more.

Ice and I snuck in a game of Necromunda last night to start our Campaign.
The Krust Koven, my Escher gang headed up by Hekate Latte, had its first run in with the Diocese of Las, a bunch of wimpy males wrapped in rubber with too much beard and not enough brain. Actually, they probably have enough brain, they were Van Saar. Maybe... not enough moxie? Anyways, chumps.
It was a straight up gangfight to begin. I won initiative and then gave it to Ice for a reason I can't explain. He took the side with more high ground and a walkway to a literal fortress. I took the side I was required then to take with not much to say for it tactically at all.
First turn was positioning. I sent my gang in low and slow. I had 3 fire teams left right and center with them mostly moving up and taking cover. Not sure I fired a shot. Ice did similar. His heavy (Champion with a PLASMA CANNON!!) took up a commanding position on the high ground in the rear of his battlefield. When I moved my Heavy, Agatha(Champion with a Heavy Stubber) to have a refrigeration pylon between her and him, Ice took his action to be in a spot to pop her when she stuck her head out of cover - she had gone prone and couldn't be shot. The Diocese of Las then had a group of four make a gambit on a wide open walkway that put them just out of reach of the big fortress (sucks having move 4 I guess, I wouldn't know myself lol lol.) He had a hidden group advancing on the ground in total cover behind the fortress including his leader.
The back and forth - I go you go - mechanic was really great for both tactical reasons (move-counter move) but also to keep us both involved. Old school Necromunda could definitely involve a lot of waiting, setting up a perfect kill zone and then declaring overwatch over and over and over again. Still loved it, but there is more dynamism in this iteration.
The second round started with a bang. Actually, it started with a lot of bangs. Agatha had taken cover on the plasma conduit to be in a good spot to have a wide field of fire with her Heavy Stubber, Krysti. Now it was time to use her. "But how?!?" you say. "She only has two actions and firing an Unwieldy firearm is a double action", you protest. "How about dem Escher skills?" say I. Agatha has the Spring Up skill. I rolled an initiative test, passed it with a 3 (needed a 2) and she was able then to take the standup simple action for frizzle free. She then sighted down her barrel ready to take Jax, who with his heavy plasma cannon was the biggest threat visible. Unfortunately, he wasn't the only threat visible, so she promptly failed her Cool check and shot at one of the chumps out in the open running across the walkway. I opted for both available rapid fire dice because mo dakka. Some choices make themselves. She fired 4 shots into him and knocked him onto the floor and then promptly ran out of ammo.
Jax sighted down the barrel of his plasma cannon, set it to low power, and then promply failed his Cool check and shot down one of my gangers that I had positioned closer and in less cover as part of Agatha's group action. So, that was SizzleC hitting the turf. "Don't think of yourself as a meat-shield, SizzleC .," said Agatha. To that,SizzleC rejoindered, "Uhn! Ow! Ahh! Uhn..."
My left flank made a slight push, which was then countered with Rob's reserves pushing to his right. Coco got taken out when he got her outflanked with his leader's plasma/las combi weapon(plasma side of course). Hekate Latte popped out of cover and got a skilled(some may say lucky) shot back at the Van Saar leader and took him down. The dialog goes as follows, "Well, you take two damage, so you are at least pinned. Oh, that's right, you are Van Saar and only have 2 Wounds on your leader AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!"
Then we did our end phase and I bottled. Because I always fail my Bottle check. Then we found the rules to voluntarily bottle the whole gang because it was 10:20 and time to go home. Bottle means flee in odd British slang btw.(this was for the facebook crowd)
Rob won and got 4 Rep and gained a Turf Size. I made some money and so did he. Now we are going to use it. Rob is going to probably buy a suspensor for his plasma cannon so he can actually use his aiming skill with that guy. I'm going to use mine to buy the stiletto knives that I undercosted when I built my gang initially.

Super fun time. Excited to do it again.

Hekate Latte has a message for the Diocese of Las: Oi! Die-diseases of Chump! You's gonna get it from us ladies next time, blaggers! Watch out for the Krust Koven! We're coming for you! Yeah!

Check out our lovely board. In the process of moving stuff around my house for future carpet, we piled up terrain on the table and had a great game.

The Diocese of Las looks forward to our next encounter.

Look! I still hobby.

Things have been pretty rough for me lately. My dad passed at the end of April and it's left me really rudderless and lost. Some people have bad fathers, I hear. I didn't. He never really understood the hobby. He was a watercolor artist - landscapes mostly. When he came into town, we would always stop into the art store and be art nerds. He always said there were worse things I could be doing... I miss him a great deal.

Anyways, playing Necromunda and hobbying and all that has been really helpful for having some stuff to look forward to and take my mind off things.

This picture is the next incarnation of Hekate Latte, the leader of the Krust Koven. The initial incarnation is still unpainted(scratch that, I primed it the other day so...unpainted.)

I'm really hoping to get totally painted soon. I want to have it all painted with painted terrain to take good pics and have more FUN!

Of course, Cawdor pics came out and now I must have all of them. My plan for that is to get a bunch and have a blast with painting and modeling them, while I play the Escher still. I'll switch to Cawdor when I can deploy a fully painted force.

Alright, now we've had some drying time. It's now time to cover it all in Agrax Earthshade and then fall asleep. Like you do.

Playing more Necromunda tomorrow night. Woo!

Any more pictures of Hekate latte? I can't wait to see her all pimped out. I'm sure she'll look awesome. Especially when she is face down and wounded on the board.

I do now have pictures of dreadlock girl and a few others I have been on.

I have gotten on something of a hobby tear.

I painted all of the ladies in my current roster to a decent tabletop standard. I don't have pictures of that at current. What I do have is a whole new set of more extravagant conversions.

Pic dump!

And here is a pic of Ice and I having a game. We started using the cards and he pulled out a great one. It allowed him to shoot through doors at models. You are looking at me moving up my champion next to a door right before Ice plays that card and group activated his leader. Luckily his dice were crap. They turned better as the game went on and I ended up bottling...

Soooo, yeah. I have been on a tear of sorts. I am going to do some undercoating now.

You know... I think you should change your base colors so they match the board. I think it would help the figures stand out more.

Thanks for the pics though. lovely little bits of sculpting there.

Nice stuff. I wonder if hammer-girl could do with some cabling on her legs, just to help sell the idea she can run with that big chunk of metal?

@Gits - I'm not opposed to a base color change. You give me a recipe and I'll try it. It just needs like less than 4 steps. I'm not the best with colors as is well known I think. Actual conversation that Ice and I had:

Pie: You think I should get the Escher dice pack? I don't like the color of it.
Ice: What color is it?
Pie: Purple.
Ice: Your gang is purple.
Pie: No, it's mauve. That's what it said in the app.

As my fiance later pointed out to me(with great affection) - You've been on this Earth for 36 years and you don't know that mauve is purple?!

@Monkeytroll-2 things on your point- 1.Not good enough to sculpt that. 2. She's a beast! That is how she carries that hammer. My favorite thing is her lugging it around looking like she is about to charge and not going for the hammerstrike but rather the bslap-I think she just earned a name: B. Slap.

And I put some paint on things. I will dump this in a second after I laboriously copy and paste it all from the gallery.

I think a new recruit is amongst these ladies. The bolter/chainaxe girl who I shall dub Sativa the WarPig. She will be the newest ganger in the Krust Koven.

They need varnished yet, but it is nighttime and I don't varnish at night.

Also, I saw a great looking scheme on the painting app that is a red/gold and now I wish I had done my girls like that.

And now this...

Might have just posted that twice. Might also have just accidentally hit the back button and almost not posted tonight...

So, there you go. There is definitely paint on them. A closeup isn't the best way to show off my "paint style" - it really has a face for radio...

Also, update on Turf War: The DL and the KK fought it out in another meeting engagement - their third of this cycle. This time the KK pulled out a win. My new Juve had a shot on Ice's leader, but didn't get it done in CC. We had a few close calls - the real swing was when Ice either missed or failed to wound with his meltagun on Agatha Crispy which opened her up to charge with her power sword. My heavy stubber champion has taken out way more people with her sword than she has her machine gun. Tactics cards are proving very interesting to the game.

Anyways, maybe I'll sleep now.

The gang looks fantastic moonpie, really well done my friend.

Basing. Change not necessary of course but you might try an experiment one or two & see if either is to your liking.

Pull out your browns, set then on the board for the game. See if you have one that is either a medium tone for the whole table, or something close to the majority of areas you'll be walking on. Then pick a highlight color fr that brown, hopefully something pre-mixed so you don't have to mess around.

Paint a base with the medium brown, drybrush brown highlight, wash base with either Sepia or whatever Delvan Mud has become. Pick whichever result looks best with the table as your final scheme..

Moonpie, you had me at 'Necromunda Madness'. Some really great Escher conversions there. Amazing how simply changing the hair in a figure can give it such a different look and add so much character! The blonde dreads and that afro are amazing. Are you thinking about making some scenery to move the game off the tiles to 3D? I think that's where Necromunda really shines

Great job, I can't wait to see more!

@Fango - We have been playing both - 2D and 3D. I guess I only take pictures when we play on Zone Mortalis. I like both options quite a bit. I play with IceAngel who uses Van Saar.

I appreciate the attention and the compliments. I'm putting away at some Silver Tower stuff that has been languishing for a while. I'm hoping to get Cawdor very soon or maybe mess with some Van Saar I got for myself.

So, I picked up the Push fit Box of the new Stormcast. Mostly not to paint the model I did, but rather the female in the kit - which is a fantastic model.

I would definitely glue them if I was to go back if only to clean the seams a little better than I did.

The brief I gave myself was to do a dirty, mean looking Stormcast. A "good guy".

So, that's that for now.

I will likely try to use some of the techniques practiced here on my Cawdor. Bloody and dirty will do well with them.

Hope you guys like it. It's a little different than usual.
