Can't post questions in rumors so asking here. It was rumored to be Blood Angels and Orks. What happened?

GW is probably going to wait till sale of the rulebook dies out, then release the set.

The rumours were never confirmed. The White Dwarf with the preview of 7th ed mentioned that they are just updating the rulebook in Dark Vengeance.

I suspect it's more to do with the short lifespan of 6th edition. In previous editions, they had 4-6 years worth of sales out of a starter set.

Imagine the anger from new people that buy dark vengeance and have to spend another 60+ to get a rulebook they can use. I've got a friend that is interested in learning the game and was thinking about getting dark vengeance, I told him not to because it's not the right rulebook.

40k Radio told us a while ago that we weren't getting a new box set. They've been pretty spot on.

Also remember how spotty those rumors were: First it was just a new starter, NOT 7th edition ("specifically NOT 7th edition"). Then it was for EPIC (hahahahahahahaha) and then it was for 7th edition.

I think it was just somebody trolling Faeit and BOLS since they tend to jump on any and all rumors and pass them along.

They did the same thing with 6th edition, the core rulebook came out in July but Dark Vengeance didn't hit til October.

Even if the rumor was true, the rumor was for a release around September.

The first rumor talking about the BA vs Ork box has mostly been confirmed to be wrong though.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Weither it will be a new starter box or Updated DV with a full mini rulebook or partial. You'll have to wait untill end of August or in September...at least thats what I think. I'm not basing this on anything but my own experience and guess.

i think the DV boxed set has been one of the best they've released in a while.

Its just a shame that they feel the need to charge so much money for it these days.

I've heard reports from GW employees that the box set will most likely come out at the end of the summer.

Both cannot be true.

You cant have GW selling DV with a 7th ed mini rulebook thrown in (which still hasnt happened, despite them confirming this in WD - so I'm guessing it has to happen 1 or 2 months ahead of now, which is right around the window a 7th ed starter set should otherwise actually drop)

...and at the same time release a 7th ed starter set.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

Well, that Blood Angels vs. Orks rumour went through all kinds of crazy loops.

First it was "minor-update-not-7th-Edition" plus that box.
Spoiler:

Later they killed the "not-7th-edition" part but kept the starter-box rumour (even though the original source was wrong on the "not-7th-part"?).
Spoiler:

Meanwhile Natfka allegedly had two different sources (!) saying it was a re-release of Epic 40.000...
Spoiler:

... while claiming the 7th Edition starter set was Eldar vs. Imperial Guard
Spoiler:

Huge mess.

Of course, 40K Radio said there would be no new box all along, but I suppose "nothing new" isn't a very sexy rumour.

They are still producing dank vengeanc sets afaic. They have a sticker on the outside warning that the rule book inside is not the 7th ed.
