I just thought it'd be interesting to ask, personally everyone seems to shift to 1 Combined arms or Allies, I thought that was interesting, Just kind of wondering if people are actually using the "new" FOC chocies.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

I have a definite structure I want from my army. The only thing I really use that isn't standard FOC is going to be the Firebase Dataslate.

I haven't bought 7th yet, but I'm pretty pumped about not having to bring the standard HQ/2 troops.

Definitely use them. Having said that, points tend to limit the extent to which I can use them as double CAD at 1500 tends to take away points from stuff I want to take.

Of course! It's a great addition to the game.

I was tempted to vote on the "mom" option, though. hehe

I voted the mom option.

I'm not building any armies that don't fit within a single CAD and maybe an allied detachment.

I think Unbound is a terrible idea, and repeating FoC isn't a whole lot better.

I usually run out of points before I run out of slots and I don't care much for allies outside of special games. So all this unlimted number of FOCs or Unbound doesn't really give me anything.

Goddamn it, stop with the troll vote options. I can't resist those :(

At topic: partially. Only change to 6th we do is you being allowed to ally with yourself. Double CAD is stupidly broken.

Well while I voted for yo mamma, I like the option to take multiple CAD in under 2k games, though at my LGS there is a restriction to how many you can take for tournaments.

I'm still going standard as of right now, but I'm experimenting with the ideas that taking a single detachment unlocks. You can potentially run more of a unit than you would normally be allowed, you could run 4 mobs of Lootas, or you could get that 1 extra troop unit you might need for your "Objective Secured" Army. This means that in 'razor-spam' or 'serpent-spam' you can potentially run 7 tanks all with objective secured! I'm currently trying to hammer out a Blood Angels list with as many Librarian Dreads as I can fit. (Which is 4, but I think 3 with some Sanguinary priests is probably better)

I'm intending to stick to 1 CA detachment with my Necrons and 1 CA and an Allied detachment with my Chaos Marines/Daemons.

My friend, who plays Tyranids/Eldar, is using 2 Tyranid CA's (because Tyranids Elite/HS sections are overcrowded) and an allied detachment of Eldar.

I won't have a reason to do 2 CA's as Necrons until I paint a 4th Anh. Barge.

I am looking at Battlerforged list that runs three nid' formations only, Tyrant Node, Endless Swarm and Living Artillery node. Thought about swapping the Endless Swarm for a pair of Wrecker Nodes. Mostly because they give nids so needed buffs.

Outside of nid's if your not run the CAD or Allies Detachment, you may as well run unbound. The CAD and Allies perks are really pretty solid.

as a speed freeks player I'm loving the extra slots. 6 trukks and 3 KFF meks and suddenly I have 9 fast attack slots to play with, bring out the stormboys, the bikers, the buggies, the koptas and the dakkajets, all at once!

generally the guy I play against is a bit old fashioned and runs a single force org and hates the new tactical objectives and so forth. I'm quite glad though, as knowing him he'd minmax me into oblivion if he took it up.

not seen any abuse of it, yet (unless you count 5 battlewagons in a 1500 point game as abuse, in which case I plead guilty!)

Good thread, I'm also curious. I'm currently not building with Dual FOC or any extension, as most tournaments disallow it.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

Almost all the tournaments are allowing two detachments of any kind. So double CAD or CAD and Ally, or CAD and formation, etc.

So I am building my lists around that restriction. I was against double cad, but now that I am building lists with it I really dont mind it.

Yeah that seems to be the most "fair" method is the either this or that. It prevents crazy stuff and is pretty honestly balanced i think versus not being able to take allies if you do it.

Our groups been doing that as well.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.
