What marine chapter makes the best allies for IG? I bought out a guy's 40k and along with a lot of IG I got 20 marines, 10 termies, 5 jump pack troops, and a few chaplains and characters. What chapter would fit well with IG tactically/thematically?

I play an attacking infantry force. Command squads and veterans anchor a gunline with heavy weapons and long range fire. I use tanks in the middle to deny the center of the board (usually a demolisher and eradicator) and advance with guard and conscripts. I'll usually take at least one deep strike or outflanking unit for line breaker and targeting enemy heavy support.

Dark Angels do nasty things for large units of IG. Azrael extends a 4++ and ATSKNF to the unit, which is nice.

Unless you're building around a blobbed Deathstar though maybe you want to look at Drop Wolves as an option. If your goal is to fix the opponent in place, a unit of Grey Hunters podding in to melta something, and a Rune Priest to hang out with a blob, would work pretty well.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
