I know its a long shot but I was looking through the ranged weapon section in the BRB and saw grav guns in there. Since most of csm weapons are from the rulebook maybe when the new chosen and havocs come out they will get grav options? And faq for points etc..

What do you think.

Nope. It's a "feature" that Chaos is stuck with crappy gear.

Yeah, Loyalist SM are pathetically dependent on their wargear.

It wouldn't be even close to a fair fight if CSM got the blessings of gods made manifest AND all the cool bling as well.

razorbacks are one of the best "Marines but not chaos" gear in that their fluff very clearly says "they're new"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

now I have this image of chaos marines looking out at a space marine army with their lascannon-toting razorbacks and then kicking their feet mumbling "I wish we could do that..."

Chaos Marine 1: "Why don't we mount lascannons to our vehicles?"

Chaos Marine 2: "I dunno, I'll ask the Warpsmith."

Warpsmith: "MORE DAEMON ENGINES! MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE DINOSAURS!!"

Chaos Marine 2: "aaand there's your problem."

Grav guns are like the only thing the adeptus mech has invented since the heresy. Id sooner take rhinos with havoc launchers over razorbacks, especially if they went back to being 2 shots.

Perfect. Exalted for making me laugh.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

Because SM came out after CSM. And SM always have to be better than CSM.

Though not necessarily true for everything over the history of the game. Used to be in 2nd edition only the Chaos Plasma Guns hurt the user. Imperial ones were lower output and slower firing rate, but had absolutely no chance of harming the wearer. Suddenly in 3rd edition everyone got the Chaos version and the "Gets Hot" rule.

Plus Chaos Terminators can take Combi-weapons, and then their is all the Chaos powers goodness.

I originally heard they concepted Grav Guns back into play because developers wanted Centurions to be melee oriented and ranged on the side. As it turned out they actually ended up making Loyalist Obliterators with the notion of never having to switch weapons because Grav Guns are stock AP2. Their range sucked in comparison to Lascannons, but htey thought giving them no invuln save would make them less a copy paste unit from the CSM Dex. (Just so that people wouldn't complain)

Centurions are the sm's equivalent to oblitirators. But Oblitirators are in the fact they have more options for weapons, Range an invulnerable save and option for marks (though only nurgle or tzeentch are worth it.
What would make oblits completely destroy centurions the race of whos better would be if they could take grav cannons
