So, you may have noticed that stealth suits are, quite frankly, crud, to put it politely. These are just some ideas on how to fix that. These are nor mutual exclusive, a mix-and-mach may be required to truly fix them. 1. Price Decrease Very basic, a price decrease until they are worth there points would greatly help 2. Toughness Four Also basic, at toughness three one wound these guys are easier to kill than space marines against anything other than AP:3 or better. 3. Different Weapons Allowing them to take different weapons would be a great boon to them. They only have tow option currently, the base burst cannon, or, for five more points for one out of every three, a fusion blaster. This means that they can't hit anything out of 18". Although I would not recommend missile pods, giving them the option to take plasma rifles and flames would help them. Even just taking the one-out-of-three restriction away would be good. 4. Moving FOC Slot Last but not least, a move from elites to troops or fast attack would greatly help That's just a few thoughts. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions of your own, feel free.

This has always been a very tough issue for me.
I honestly think the best way to fix them, is to try and make them like elite pathfinders and give them more support roles.
Honestly I think an easy fix is keeping their stat line but give them all markerlights for free. This gives you a unit that is:
-Better able to deploy than pathfinders (infiltrate/deepstrike over scout)
-Better firepower (burstcannon is just two carbines)
-More mobile and independant (no need for transport and able to move and shoot markers)
-Much more survivable while still being a fragile support unit that relies on stealth.
I think one of the problems with stealth suits is people want to see them be comparable to Crisis suits. I think the Crisis suits are just too versatile and useful. I think making them feel more like elite Pathfinders is the answer.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

They don't need to be compared to crisis suits nor pathfinders.
They need their own thing. and that means they need their own special abilities. something on the tactical level other then raw dakka would be nice.
Sure, burst cannons and occasional FB are decent fire options, but they should not be the unit's focus, and currently it IS. the only other thing they can do at the moment is reserve shenanigans, but that takes their prices too high to be rational.
Price drop, some tactical abilities (maybe some debuffing power, tau don't have any other then photon grenades and occasional pinning) and they'll be great.

Give them a 5 ppm drop, make them troops and give them scout, make them an anti-infantry, objective secured, mid field unit.

I don't know about making Stealthsuits Troops (Fast Attack might make more sense since they're functionally battlesuit Pathfinders); I'd support T4/W2 and giving them access to some combination of ion rifles/rail rifles/longshot pulse rifles to keep their distinct character rather than trying to make them fill the same niche as Crisis suits only smaller.

More interesting equipment options would go a long way to making them viable. They have wonderful maneuverability and great survivability (get 2+ saves when in terrain).... but they don't deal enough damage to effectively do their jobs as harassers/skirmishers/backfield killers. Deep striking crisis suits fill that role better, and for fewer points.
IMO, they should have access to markerlights, pulse carbines (for pinning), rail rifles, and more fusion blasters. They can fill the role their fluff describes much better that way, while still being an expensive niche unit (pathfinders would be the much cheaper option for markerlight support, crisis suits would be better frontline troops).

This.
Stealth Suits' problem isn't that they're too weak or too expensive, its that they compete for space with riptides and crisis suits.
Making them troops would be a perfect solution if you cap their squad size to 6.

Well that works, they already are . I may try a few games liker that and see how they work. They no longer get a huge buff in 7th for being able to capture point (which was the concern in 6th). I think an expensive, but dcent troop chice is proebly great for them. The competiton with crisis suits and the-suit-which-must-not-be-named really hurts them, making them not be cost efficent at all.

Leave them as they are and give them the same abilities as invisibility... Cos you know.. They are lol.
Jokes aside, that might actually work, yes if there hit they fold like a wet flan, same as combat, I'm actually going. To test this with my mate who plays tau, it could be funny

I feel like it's a case of other better things competing for the same FOC slot.
I don't think giving them more weapon options will change much, as I still find their main role is to be used as either bait, or to apply pressure to poorly deployed infantry squads.

Its more then that, they don't JUST compete with crisis and riptides, they are also out-shot and out-endured by pretty much any similar profile unit.
Gun drone squads do their job better when BC equipped, and the fusios are better handled by specialist crisis.
The problem is that everything they can do, someone else does better...they need their own thing.

who uses devilfish?
Giving them markerlights or access to 12 drones would be sufficient.
