Was watching a BA vs DA battle report and the BA Assault Squad of 10 managed to pull off the charge and get into base contact, then he gt 10 Hammer of Wrath Attacks, one per soldier in the unit.

Is this legit?

The Hammer of Wrath Rule is clear on this matter.

Double checked HoW rule. Turns out our group has been playing it wrong, we've been doing it by unit so one unit of tactical gets one HoW. My own fault for not better checking but as I don't assault much I never cared

Wait, you were giving tactical marines HoW? Unless they were a FW chapter trait then tactical marines DONT get HoW....

Also note: you don't get one for every member of the squad... you get one for every member of the squad that gets in Base to Base. A squad of 10 Assault Marines would only get 10 HoW attacks if all 10 are in B2B with enemy models.

Its called an example, I meant Assault Marines but it really doesn't matter as it was a rules question, not a model one

It's a poor example then, as it creates additional confusion.

Also unless it was altered in 7th the Assault Marines only get the HoW attacks if they didn't use their packs in the movement phase. (Or if you're playing Raven Guard)

This is helpful, in that battlereport I was wondering why the BA player didn't use his packs to get closer for a charge, luckily he got a 10 when he needed 8 inches, otherwise it'd have failed I think

Lobomalo, 90% of your questions can be answered with "read the rules". This leads me to believe that either you don't have the rulebook, or your rulebook is lacking an index.

Please just read each rule before asking yet another anecdotal question. Or if you can't, don't use this forum as a substitute for the rulebook, as that's against it's rules.

90% of my questions are questions on a rule but clarifications of a rule. As in I haven't fully memorized everything yet.

Then again, 99% of the questions brought into YMDC could be answered the same way as you just replied to me, or they could be answered by using simple common sense.

How is your post constructive in the least bit?

I read hammer of wraths ruling initially, I don't use units who have it at the moment so I haven't had a chance to use it yet and the video I watched, you'll notice if you read the op, made me question it because I wasn't sure. It wasn't asking for a rule, but a clarification and is most definitely allowed, that is what YMDC is for sir.

Now, contribute something next time, don't sit there and flame.

A clarification is generally where the rules are ambiguous, not where the rules are clear and you didn't bother to read them. He was simply attempting to remind you that this is a place to "make calls" about difficult and/or confusing rules, not a replacement for opening up your book and reading (as this is against forum rules and could lead to repercussions).

As I said, I read the rules. I don't carry the damn book around with me all of the time. Seriously, back off. If its a legit issue, the moderators can let me know to cool it and then I will, until then, seriously, contribute or go away. Not trying to be mean or anything, but your comments have no merit to a topic with an answer I already received.

This is why players should be able to delete threads they start, then I could delete mine once I got the answer. Didn't think I'd get the 3rd degree from doing literally what everyone else has done going back the 600+ pages in this particular forum.

Just click on the little Yellow Triangle to the right and request a mod to close your thread, they will be quite happy to that for you.
