Hi there,

I don't have access to the newest digital codex for the Sisters. Are they able to take drop pods? I'm just thinking that I could repurpose some of my drop pods for them if they could.

So... do they have anything that's decent to use for transport? the Immolator I imagine won't last luck enough to get within range of using the flamers.

Rhinos en masse, outflanking Immolators. As long as you're not playing on a flat parking lot an opponent shouldn't be able to take out all transports before you're in barbeque range with some. Any sisters who lost their ride will just footslog up to support or reinforce home objectives.

Rhinos and immolators are it. The codex is dreadfully lacking in pretty much every department.
But Immolators can outflank and scout and I had good luck getting them into position.

Seraphim can deep strike....and that's about it.

For such an interesting army they really haven't been given much in the sense of firepower.

Nor have they been given a serious codex update since.... when was witch hunters that was really SoB+Ecclesiarchy+Hereticus Inquisition?

There's hope they might be getting an update after the rest but that's the best bet.

Forgeworld gives them Repressors - AV13/11/10 Transports that come with a Storm Bolter and Heavy Flamer. They're basically up-armoured Rhinos. And with the new Battle Brother rules, Sisters can always jack an allied Land Raider if they wanted to.

They dont get drop pods in their Codex.

But they are now Battle Brothers (or Sisters) with all of the Empire of Man, so does that mean we can use them from there, or are we not able to put sisters in vehicles that are still in reserve?

Drop Pods are Dedicated Transports, and the rules are still the same - only the Unit that the Dedicated Transport was bought for can start the game deployed inside it. Only Marines can buy them as Dedicated Transports, so only they can start the game deployed inside them. Vehicles that are bought for any other Force Org (Fast Attack, Heavy Support etc) are fine though. Ally with Astra Militarum and have 5 woman Sister squads fly around in Vendettas, or ally with Space Marines to outflank a Land Raider with a Dominion Squad inside it.

Then again if you're just playing with mates or at your FLGS, why not simply ask if anyone objects to you taking Drop Pods as Dedicated Transports? Sure they're not in the Codex, but its hardly going to unbalance the game or whatever. Rule of Cool trumps everything (within reason), and Sisters dropping in via Drop Pods is pretty cool.

Drop Pods in the Codexes are Dedicated Transports. You can't start the game in another unit's DT.

SoB IC can join Battle Brother units with drop pods. That's probably the only way. But not units.

You could dig out the old Hereticus Strike Force list, which DID allow for Sisters in Drop Pods, and use that as lore justification to get your FLGS friends to let you play them.

But as it is, the best transports options for Sisters are;

Repressor
Bigger Squads
Outflanking.

With Rhinos as kind of meh, and Immolators being best used as heavy weapons rather than transports.

Citadel journal #49. They had 2 drop pods available. One is a transport and one has 5 heavy bolters or multimelta as it's cargo.

But surely we do need those huge cathedrals on wheel that are displayed on some art of Codex: Witch Hunter and teased in Imperial Armour Volume 2 Second Edition!

There was the Dominica-pattern Pod from forever and an age ago, but that's no longer a viable option...

... so for a pure Sisters army, we have our Seraphim for deep-striking. The rest of the army either rides tracks, or rides CPCs (Ceramite Personnel Carriers... also known as the boots to your Power Armor.)

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

well it looks like I've got a bit of shopping list: a few battle sister squads and an Immolator for some fire power. it'll make for a decent allied attachment to begin with.

Sisters need a proper launch with all the attendant bells and whistles (like the ability to buy them from my local GW).

Repressors are great. Forgeword Dedicated Transport for your Sororitas.

Not sure why it's getting so much hate, but I'm quite happy with the AS digi-dex.

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

Don't get me wrong I love the digi-dex and was thrilled to get it, but I'd still like to see the SoB get a proper update and a physical book.

Did people really dismiss the immolator here? It's one of the best transports in the game. Especially with multimedia.

I'd be thrilled to have my dudes in such a transport and not lousy devilfish.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
