So I was breaking out all of my ships to get a couple of "family" photos, and it got me to thinking. I've added paint to just about all of the ships that I own, cannot seem to let well enough alone. Made me wonder what kinds of thoughts others have when they do a repaint. Do you repaint just cannon color schemes based on ship (A wing proto tupe, green, 2 unique) or do you paint squadrons (Red 1-?, Rogue or Wraith squadron, Taanab Yellow Aces)? Do you re-prime and start from scratch, or do you just touch up the existing paint to add your own flare? Do you customize the bases/pegs in any way (while in the rules of the game)? Do you alter the cards at all? Right now, I'm painting up a set of 4 A-Wigns to be the Taanab Yellow Aces so that when I run 4 Green Squadron Pilots w/ PtL & Ion Pulse Missiles, they will really look good (play good, time will tell), and I'm going to try and find a way to alter the cards to have Taanab Yellow Ace Pilot on the title and picture.

I've only painted one ship so far, and I did it because Wedge is awesome. I primed black directly over the original paint and then just went to town.

This article just went up today... some awesome stuff in there, though one in particular slipped under the radar apparently with those other great paint-jobs!

Kai, you should check out MajorTom's P&M blog for inspiration and tips on how he painted many of his X-wing models. Starting from this post:
