*: Kung-fu Grip not included

Two new Wave Serpents, replacing my older (and less well-painted) ones and matching the first of the "holo-field" painted models (the third model in the group, which is also posted to Dakka for the first time). These are the first completed parts of my army refresh for the Bay Area Open. The two new ones have stripes indicating "1" and "2" that will match with the banners of the Dire Avenger units they carry.

These are just cellphone pics, so there's no good "forum size" for them; click through for full detail.

I don't think these pictures really capture the model and it's paint effects you got going on here. From what I can tell they look cool. Prob a sight to see in real life

Yeah, they were finished just in time for a tournament tomorrow; I'll try and get out the lightbox for good pictures during the upcoming week.

I only checked this thread for the kung-fun grip, thanks.

Anyway, you have a cool theme going.

Better pics will definitely help. I'd like to see a close up of the turrets. They look like FW turrets, but you've somehow modified to where the weapons are separated; I'm intrigued.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

The turret is the Starcannon turret, with the cannons themselves cut off and magnets installed. Had a couple from back in Third Edition, so I just made some copies. The ones on the new tanks are really rough because the molds were made with paint still on; I may see if I can strip one of there originals and try again.
