i think you should put the pictures in your post, not as a link.

As for the minis,it's a good start, with just a little touchup here and there aswell as a shade you should be good.

Perhaps not, but since GW seems to subsist off sadness and pain, I can't rule it out.

Thin your paints down, try to stay within the lines when doing the eyes, apply some washes and try some highlighting.

The models look good enough for your first 2 squads. I didn't do any better when I started 14 years ago (has it been that long ). If you invest some time each week to get some painting done, expect a huge learning curve in the first few months of painting.

Here are some starter tips to help you, I would advise to search for some tutorials on the internet or dakkadakka.
1) Don't ever be put off by what you see on the internet. Some people just have a lot of talent of are in the hobby for way too long.

2) If you are using GW paints. Thin them down some. You can just use clean water for this.

3) When you paint your basecoat, try to leave a little bit of black in the recesses. This add some depth to the model.

4) Get an old brush and cut the hairs shorter or a drybrush. This technique makes a great deal of difference when handled well. I still use it. If your models gets a chalky look, take a wash and tone it down.

5) I could be me or the camera, but your tabards look white. I strongly advise to stay away from white on large surfaces just yet. White is just a pain to paint on large surfaces.

6) You can use this tip with tip 3 and 4. Using washes on everything. You apply the basecoat first, drybrush the whole model with a lighter colour than you would normally do. After the paint has completely dried, you apply some washes to the model. This tones the model a bit down (that's why you use a lighter shade when drybrushing) and you get instant shadows because of the nature of the wash. It also blends the basecoat and drybrush a bit.

Just google the internet, read tutorials and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Get to know the basic techniques for the first 2 months.

Awesome, thanks man! Washing is probably but my next step, but I also like tip 3, I think that will really help out. Also, it is the lighting/poor flash, the tabards are more your standard cream than a plain white, same with the Deathwing.

Thanks man. Any tips on shading, also, didn't really see, how do you post images into a post?

Thin out the layers, it may take longer but it looks so much better when layers and shades work together

You'll see huge chasnges as you go on, keep a few originals around to remind you how far you have come :-)

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.
