I'm having some troubles. I have my half painted company champion in the style of the one on the box (except manly yellow, not silly blue). I was planning to do a large chunk of the black parts shown below as shiny metallic; this is where I need you help. Yellow + gold/bronze may appear bland, and I'm not convinced if silver would look good either.

I was considering perhaps doing red and then doing a thinned layer of bronze such that the red shows through. Maybe purple and silver?

What should I do, Dakka?

p.s. the direct white light plus iphone camera really washes out the colour - they're more golden than yellow in real life

FYI, blue is traditionally a masculine colour, conveying intelligence, and depending on the context, can also be used to signify a sci-fi genre in media texts.

I recommend either metallic purple for a very striking contrast, or silver. Gold would just blend in, especially if, as you say, they are golden yellow.

I might try a red ink over silver. Keeps the chapter colors in there.

So I went with Hormagaunt Purple covered with a thin layer of silver and highlighted with Warlock Purple (it looks more pinky than purple I think.

What do you think?
