It depends how fast you can paint them to the level you desire. If I set this goal for myself I might not play until 9th (Though that is only 6-9 months away *rimshot*)

I find playing as you paint can be a good motivator. As more and more of it gets done you'll really want to finish everything.

I have a 95% fully painted SW army. All that I need to paint is the Wolves I picked up. The TW unit, the Thunder Wolf wolf wolf and the wolf wolves fenrisian wolves pack wolf I wolfed up from Ewolfbay last year.

Now, If only I can have a fully painted Ork Army. My whole 5k orks would be awesome fully painted.

Ironically enough, I find having multiple, partially painted armies increases amount of painting I do, as I tend to jump from army to army as whim strikes me. I'll probably cycle over to my CSM/Daemons next or my fledgling Imperial Fists force next, now that I've gotten painting 20+ Guardsmen out of my system.

In all seriousness, set a reasonable goal for yourself, painting a few models at a time and playing with the rest. Trying to get everything done before you play with them (esp. if it's your only army) promotes burnout.

I noticed that the plastic glue label recommends wearing something akin to a hazmat suit when handling the glue. I have been using it for years and never used gloves or anything nor do I know anyone who does. ShouldI be worried for my health?

Well, there's a slight risk of gluing something together with it. Only slight, mind.

What he said. Lol. My iron warriors took over 2 years to collect and paint, and yes they look awesome on the table. However my renegade/mutant guard army is only about 50% painted as I can never wait long enough to field them. Tbh its entirely up to you though dude.

I would Paint your key units at least before you start. The HQ, one troop choice and just something you fancy. As soon as you see how much better it looks fielding painted models it will encourage you to get the rest done. If you start with nothing painted I've noticed people tend to keep it this way for a little too long!

You'll most likely never have a "fully" painted army. There will be always something to tweak or redo or a new model to paint. As your skills improve you'll look back at the old models and tell yourself that you can do better.

And also if your like 99% of us you will have rare chances to play a much more time to paint. Therefor play when you can and paint all the other times . You won't dislike the game any less (imo).
