The Dark Eldar have long since locked away their psychic potential for fear of inviting the gaze of She Who Firsts into there midst, but while to many the Arcane begets nothing but revulsion, others see power. Dark Eldar have never been a race to shy away from power despite the risk. So it was that Vect ordered his Haemonculi to find away to tap into the Warp as a way to combat the Magicks of the Daemons and their Weakling Cousins regularly use. Many Haemonculi tried to harness the power of the Warp, and the city suffered many Daemonic Incursions, when a solution was found. They didn't need to control the power of the Warp, they simply needed to make sure no one else did. So, using the skeleton of the Chronos Pain Engine, they engineered a devise that would suit their needs. Underneath the rune inscribed carapace lies a tiny Warp Portal, kept in a constant state of flux to as to keep the Warp from seeping into reality. But when stored Warp Energy, such as that collected from tortured Psykers, is poured into the Dark Heart of the Gorgoth were the Warp Portal lies, a Negative Feed Back loop is created, were the more Warp Power absorbed, the greater the vortex will be, ripping the power of the Warp from the materium. To a blunt this will only feel slightly discomforting, but to one blessed with Witch Sight they would see a towering Vortex and rips and tears at the power within their soul. The purpose of such is not as much to torture Psykers, that is more a happy side effect, the main objective is to derive a Psyker of there connection to the Warp, stopping all but the weakest of cantrips being attempted as the power grows thinner and thinner.

Heavy Support: Ws 3 Bs 3 S 5 T 7 W 3 I 4 A 2 Ld 10 3+ 90pts

unit type: Monstrous creature

Wargear: Armoured carapace, Close Combat Weapon, Negative Warp Vortex*, Twin-Linked Stinger Pods.

Special Rules: Night Vision, Power from Pain, Fearless, Move through Cover.

*Negative Warp Vortex: At the start either players psychic phase, after warp charges are generated, the Negative Warp Vortex may be activated. The controlling player may choose to forfeit any number of Warp Charges unto the Warp Vortex and these are lost, but the opposing player will also lose the same amount of Warp Charge points as the controlling player forfeited. If the controlling player Forfeits 4 or more Warp Charges into the Negative Warp Vortex, then every model capable of generating Warp Charges takes an AP 2 S 3 Ignores Cover hit which cannot be LOS!'ed, Psychic Pilots suffer a glancing hit on a 5+ instead, this is in addition to the Warp Charges being lost from the pool.

I thought a little bit of Anti-Psyker was in order for the Dark Eldar, who i believe to rely on Eldar Aliies to be competitive far to much. I based this guy off of the Chronus, what do you think? The anti-Psyker ability isn't to strong is it? The Dark Eldar player only gets D6 Warp Charges, so at most he is denying 6 Warp Charges. It just seems like a more efficient way to deny the Witch, but it won't do to well against armies that have a lot of static Warp Charges. Opinions?

The hits on a large drain are too much. Because really, if I'm running Dark Eldar, why would I ever NOT do the train to constantly damage the enemy psykers with absolutely no recourse?

I get the intent, but it just means that I could get 2 or 3 of these and utterly slaughter all psykers in pretty short order.

I think the Negative Warp Vortex could be like this:

At the start either players psychic phase, after Warp Charges are generated, the Negative Warp Vortex may be activated. The controlling player may choose to forfeit any number of Warp Charges unto the Warp Vortex and these are lost. Every model capable of generating Warp Charges that is within 12" of a unit of Gorgoth Pain Engines suffers one hit with AP 2 and S equal to the number of Warp Charges forfeited, which cannot be LOS!'ed, Psychic Pilot vehicles suffer a glancing hit on a 5+ instead. A model is within 12" of multiple units of Gorgoth Pain Engines will still suffer only one hit.

And this could be an upgrade for the existing Talos or Cronos. What do you think ?
