I've fallen a bit behind in X Wing. Generally I like to pick up 4 of each release, give or take some of the more spammable ships. I've missed the large ship release and I'm back tracking. I'll probably pick up 3 CR90s as it gives me plenty of options for the transports themselves and as terrain, but that might be a bit overkill. How many Corellian Corvettes are people rocking? I can't imagine more than one or two, although I'm less familiar with any useful cards they might bring.

I wouldn't day you need more than one corvette, although there are alternate options for fielding it more than one would eat up too many epic points.
Transports on the other hand look ok, there's a scenario that uses three and is good fun

Just one of each, to get the cards for normal games (which are amazing), unless people in your area really love big games and don't play too competitively. The CR90 is pretty weak overall (expensive and severely limited by its low energy generation), and the transport is a pure support ship that you'll rarely, if ever, want to bring more than one of. So unless you're playing special fluff scenarios often enough to justify spending hundreds of dollars on big ships, or just don't care about the money, there's not much point to buying more than one of each.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Cheers Peregrine I was looking at the CR90 from a 'must have' point of view but tbh ive spent enough, but a transport may be good fun as a scenario point as you say, so I may just get the one.
We are all in the buying but yet to play much phase in my group
Someone said it was cheap........

The transport is a lot of fun when used right. However, if you find yourself playing one-off games where you need several (say convoy duty) look for an old snap-fit model of one instead of buying more than one. The models are slightly bigger/closer to "correct" size and so you could always call them GR-75s and the official model a GR-45 in those games.
All you'd really need is more than one dial & that should be easy enough to scan/print. The stat cards & what not can easily be referenced from the single. When it comes to damage decks that might get a bit tricky, but if your opponent is smart enough to finish off one at a time it won't really matter because as each goes down you can recycle its cards back into their respective decks. Anyway with 20 cards between the two hopefully you won't run out before one ship is taken out. If you do... where your opponent can't see write down the effects of each card & number the cards then if he has an ability that lets him turn one or more of them face up you ask him to tell you which card number & you apply that affect. To track damage for the cards you recycle just use the tons of critical hit markers you should have.

Honestly, I can't imagine NOT owning one of each just for completion and card/crew-sake. Plus, lets be honest... they look stunning on the shelf and give the game a great sense of scale (even if that scale isn't correct).
However, owning more than one of each never occurred to me. Even under "Epic" sized games, you literally cannot take a second Tantive IV, so what value would come in owning it?
