Pretty easy way to do that really... drop holos for ghost walk matrix on the serpents . It probably would be worth dropping a couple of shuricannons for a spear and spirit stones of awesomes for the farseer.

May the WAAC and pretzels be with you.

120 farseer, bike, spear
105 autarch, fusion, lance, bike

220 2x 5 dragons
360 6x 5 avengers

270 2x WS holo SL
870 6x WS holo SL SC

720 3x knights

185 6x spears, ex, lance, hit+run

96 6 hawks

2946

Some wiggle room left.
9 WS is alot, can easily go to 8.
3 knights AND 3 dragons may be overkill on anti-armor given the serp spam. So dropped a FD unit and their serp.

Can give the spears 2 ic's to increase it's damage output ( assuming it's intercepting/counter-charging) although farseer not likely to actually cast much at 3k, but 3+D6 dice to throw on an enemy cast you dislike is nice.

Added hawks because they are awesome, and provide a large blast and can land anywhere to take an objective or just annoy something. More blasts would be nice in case you play horde armies.

Having played the lances ... they're not on par with the other options, I'd rather drop them tbh.

Hawks I have an issue with, we're already dealing 6S10AP1 Distort and three Fragons (no I'm not dropping that).

I played a MantleSeer last game, it looked "playable", however I think Spears, Autarch and Jetseer would just get murdered in a competitive game, might as well drop those fkkk.s

I'm somewhat seduced by ghost walk matrixes, but that's like 9 of em, and droping holofields ? here's the math bro, you don't wanna do that:

So uhm... reallocating the points from the useless lances.

1 Spiritseer 70
3 Min Fragon Squad 330
6 Min DA Squad 390
9 Wave Serpent Shu Scatter + Holo 1305
3 Wraith Knight 720

Remaining:185

IMO there is zero competitive HQ choice in that price range, a Mantle whatever would just end up saturated or even ID'd.
Elite, we're full.
Troops, we're full.
Heavy Support, we're full.

Guess you can add Spiders. or Ghostwalk Matrixes, but since there are 9 WS there is not going to be enough room for all of them in terrain, I would guess only the three Fragon transports *might* be worth it.

Transforming Fragons into D-scythes maybe ? how competitive are these ?

Maybe this:

1 Spiritseer 70
3 Min Fragon Squad 330
6 Min DA Squad 390
9 Wave Serpent Shu Scatter + Holo 1305
3 Wraith Knight 720
3 Ghostwalk Matrixes for the Fragon WS 30

155 points remaining

I'd like something that makes Necrons weep.

Did you try the spears as an assault unit or hold back as an interceptor?

As for HQ you could take an autarch with fusion for 80, random high BS melta in a DA serpent and some reserve manipulation if you need to reserve something (knights v venom spam and your going 2nd for example)

D-scythes would do well on any OT vehicles or hordes, pack them tights with careful tank-shocks perhaps.

1. I tried as an Assault unit, I don't see the point of an interceptor with my playstyle, I may be missing a good use case to reconsider.

2. I'd rather have two DTW dice than one fusion gun and risk losing my Warlord traits. 2+ reserve is nice, Knights will have to suck it up, but I'm not too afraid of DE at the moment. Necrons are on my mind though.

3. Packing with Tank Shocks is incredibly situational. I'd rather not be that close to the enemy with too many Tanks. What do you usually hunt with D-Scythes ?

If your good at playing keep-away you may not need an interceptor, or a knight may suffice depending on the target. A charge at enemy lines would see the spears gunned down or counter charged easily at this point level.
There are units however that will be annoying, either through speed, DS, pod, outflank, etc, that can potentially eat up a lot of knight/serp fire that would be better utilised elsewhere.
Since you only have fast slots available you are limited on choice however. Any unit, spiders, spears, vypers or hawks will be of limited use or die easily, since s4 has nothing else to do against you besides kill your fast slot.
If you want the spears keep them out of sight if possible and use them to take out things that get annoyingly close.

If your main concern is necrons the scythes can eat up their infantry quite well and weather a lot of return fire. If playing ghost arks the templates would also do a number on its contents since it OT. One of the main selling points for scythes is objectives, very hard to shoot off and nobody wants to charge that wall of death over watch.
