I'm just wondering what are the shootiest models or units in the game atm? This might start a new army for me if there's enough dice to drown enemy players with
Basically I'd just like people to put ideas down for units or models that have lots of dakka! For example:
Leman Russ Punisher with 2 heavy bolter sponsons and a hull-mounted heavy bolter = 29 dice
Ork Shoota Boyz Mob 30 strong = 60 dice
Stuff like that
Thanks in advance for the Dakka!

30 Imperial Guard Conscripts with Commissar: 115 points, Ld9. Take Order test for FRF... 90 shots at 12". Punisher, as mentioned above. Tau Fire Warriors, Cadre Fireblade, Etheral with a powery thing (can't recall the name): 6.02x10^23 shots...ok, maybe not quite, but the Fireblade and Etheral give +1 shot each at 15", so assuming it stacks, that's 48 shots at S5 and boosted BS from markerlights at 15"

Think about a Pask in three Punisher squadron with MM sponsons and hull lascannons.
That's 60 S5 dice out of which 20 have rending. Then you have 6 Multi-Melta shots and three lascannons.
This murders flyers, monsters, tanks, infantry blobs and.. pretty much anything really! Toss in some prescience on the whole squadron and.. yeah, you get the grasp.
Either that or rapid-firing 50 guardsman blob(bonus points for any autocannons or heavy bolters) into anything that isn't a vehicle. That's staggering amount of 100 shots!
If you like smaller 'efficient shooting', though, a squad of Tau Fire Warriors with a Cadre Fireblade will shoot 39 shots at rapid fire range thanks to his special rule. Might not be much per se, but you can have several units like that and with their low cost, you can easily get 120 S5 AP5 shots that also can get buffed by Ethereals' storm of fire giving every Fire Warrior unit in 12" radius -another- shot at rapid fire range, making a single unit of 12 FWs with a Fireblade pump out 52 S5 shots at 15"(1 normal shot, 1 from rapid fire, 1 from fireblade for being stationary and 1 from storm, four s5 shots per model!). Anything short of AV12 is going to weep and even flying monstrous creatures may find themselves in danger as the more dice you roll, the more 6s will pop up and with s5 you still can hurt them!

I'll take Sternguard every time. Pretty much nothing that they cannot deal with for you. Give them 5 combo plasma and you are set.

I was hoping for more Xenos armies , which means that so far -- the best is either orks or that Ethereal + Fireblade + Fire Warrior combo.
Do we have any more suggestions or is that the extent to epic dakka amongst xenos?

Well, dunno about volume of shots but Lootas with a good roll pretty much ruin anyone's day, S7 shots with 12-15 of these guys at 2-3 odd shots per man... ugly.
I saw a Predator tank of mine take shots to the front armor (13) and basically evaporate.
The prior mentioned Sternguard are the guys I send in drop pod to get rid of those nasty shooty orks.

Fireblade bonus is on for all ranges; Ethereal's bonus (Storm of Fire) is only half range, as you pointed out.
12 FWs: 12 at 30", 24 at 15"
+ Fireblade: 25 at 30", 38 at 15" (must not move, though)
+ Ethereal: 25 at 30", 51 at 15"

20 Eldar Guardians with 2 Shuriken Cannon platforms and a warlock with Guide....43 shots that hit on 3+ and reroll misses! That should net 36 bladestorm capable (pseudo-rending) hits!! Of course, the downside is the effective range is 12+d6, but still, pretty effective against any ground pounders.

Not a xeno army but...
full tactical squad under a command squad with a BoD is just a surreal thing.
20-40 bolter shots.
You can also go another route.
Ravenwing squads with a BoD is 24 twin linked shots.

On that subject we have a warlord trait that gives the warlord and their unit skyfire for one shooting phase. I actually got good use out of that one in a tournament last weekend. The opponent had 2 flying hive tyrants that flew straight at me first turn. I shot one down with a sky ray and the other one got killed by weight of fire from the rest of my army, with 2/4 wounds being put down by my ethereal and fire warriors who suddenly had skyfire. Felt good to finally get some mileage out of that trait. (almost felt sorry for the guy. He didn't know a sky ray could dump all 6 missiles in one turn)

the imperial armour 8 kustom stompa.
2 deffkannons, 2 supa-gatlas.
so that's 2 S10 megablasts and 2 guns with potentially unlimited shots. 2D6 shots, until you roll a double.
seen 2 stompas open fire with their supa-gatlas and wipe the majority of the opposing army turn1.
lootas have the highest damage output i know of, as they have such good strength and AP to their guns. if ork bikers got cheaper and stayed as shooty, they're damn good now.

stormlord w 2 x twin heavy bolter sponsons and 2 3 strong heavy weapons teams firing from the top.
standing still, 30 vulcan mega bolter shots, 15 twin linked hb shots and 18 hb shots (maybe more, it says 20 models can fire from the back but I'm not sure if you'd count each heavy weapons team as two people or just the one firing)
ooooor, and again i don't know if this is legit, but in 7th battle brothers can enter each others transports right? so 20 hb marines, making 60 shots!
total: 112 shots (incl heavy stubber and 4 lascannons)
