Lone Wolf Sentinel Pilot

By the foot of the Andes

Hi and welcome!

I'd been thinking about putting up a completed things thread to show together in a tidier way what is dispersed around in my P&M Blog, so here it goes.

Starting out, one of the last finished builds, my entry for the LoER Terrain Comp N° 8, "Accommodation"

Any comments, criticism and questions are always welcome.

Thanks for stopping by.

Classy.

Where did you get the high voltage sign from?

@bladeiai: Thanks!

Main body is made from a half a 160 mm PVC sewer pipe cut-off, the rest is styrene and the odd bits and pieces here and there. Mosquito mesh for the wire fence.

More details and building process over here.

@Steel-lynx20: Thank you, and welcome.

@Ailaros: Thanks.

As to the signs, nothing too fancy: web image search for warning/danger/high voltage signs, scaled (by eye only) in an image editor if needed, inkjet printed and clear coat sprayed before weathering.

Cheers.

Great work - I'm cheating by getting the Dust set but will need bigger buildings too so will be nicking some of your ideas!
Cheers

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

You have some absolutely amazing terrain here. I really love the printed out warehouse interior for the "All roads" piece. It's a neat little touch that adds a lot. Your attention to detail altogether is wonderful.

Another finished something, this time for Gitsplitta's 2° Annual Mantis Maker Challege.

Guideline was to match a single, Mantis Warrior infantry figure (including bikes) to the following quote from IA.

"Once the silent warders of the Endymion Cluster, in the wake of the Badab Wars the Mantis Warriors have been bound to a century long penitent crusade which may well see the end of the Chapter before its conclusion. One of the rare descendants of the savage White Scars, the Mantis Warriors’ millennia of isolation on the far edge of human space has left them much changed from their origins. Experts in the art of guerrilla warfare and the sudden application of violence from concealment, the Mantis Warriors are subtle and cunning killers, wreathed in mysticism, who strike with the fury of an unexpected storm."

Simple. Ja!

So:

Barely seen through the heavy mist, the Battle Brother moved upon his target swiftly and without noise. A brief opening in the fog, a demolition charge casually left behind, almost as if forgotten…
The blast went off even before the mist had fully closed behind him, and the wall was breached. The fight was over before the debris from that first explosion had finished falling to the ground, the enemy never getting over the utter surprise of the attack.

Maybe because of living in an arid climate, coming out of the mist for a swift attack before getting lost in the fog again quite embodies the idea of the "sudden application of violence from concealment". Surprise assaults, bombs and quick strikes come to mind regarding the guerilla tactics of a depleted or isolated force.

At least, that was my take on it.

Cheers.

Love your style, but not a fan of the tankette for some reason. Maybe because I always think of WWII polish tankettes when I hear the word.

I got this one from Red Harvest as part of my 2° place price in the #11 Round of the LoER Terrain Comp "On The Road" (shown a bit above, BTW), some time ago.

I figured that putting some paint on it would be a better way to honour him, and it's Sunday after all.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers.
