I'm suffering from this condition inwhich after painting miniatures for atleast over an hour ( and stopping ) I feel messy. It's hard to explain but I feel like I need to go wash my face, hands or go to shower. Dunno why this is, but happens all the time!

Are you using an airbrush and do you hold the model between the brush and your face?

If that is the case, I can understand. Otherwise, sorry but no

I sometimes get a yucky chemical smell in my nose after working with various solvents that would make me want to have a shower but the smell wouldn't go away. At first I thought I actually smelled funny (as in, my body/sweat/whatever), then I realised it was just in my own nose, then later I realised it happened after using various solvents (and would often last for days). I try to be a bit more careful using chemicals now.

Other than that, no, not really.

Haha no, I don“t use airbrushes at all. Sometimes I like to do a faceplant onto the colourpalette. Instant warpaint.

My thumb is always "dirty" (If by dirty you mean covered in paint)

And i also managed to spill a pot of freshly thinned down red paint all over the suede leather couch so that was an "all hands on deck" dirty moment

Maybe you have a mild allergy to the paints, or a mild form of OCD? Idk, maybe sth like that. I feel messy too, but cuz I get paint all over my clumsy paws Maybe you could adapt your routine to shower after you paint? or just keep some baby wipes on hand for afterwards

Having paint on my skin genuinely doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when I choose to not paint at my desk and instead sit on a couch or something. I'll put my trusty paint rag across my lap to be at least mildly tidy but nine times out of ten I end up resting one or both of my elbows on the rag and getting paint all over them as well.

It's also super easy to tell when I've been having a serious painting session. I'll use the back of my left hand as a painting pallet, particularly the spot where my thumb connects to the meat of my hand. Holding a miniature in my left finger tips and the brush in my right it's just sort of natural to dab off paint or do a little blending there. If I need to mix up a lot of a certain tone or really work out a particular consistency then I'll use a pallet or something but if it's just shifting from white to beige for some guy's purity seals then I'll just do it on my hand. But after an extended session the back of my hand fanning out from the knuckle of my index finger and over to my thumb will sometimes have a full gradient scale on it along with little patches of silver and gold that I was also working with at the time.

It matters not from whence the weave flows, just that it doooo
