I'm trying to look for some exciting bases to use for my infinity, and while I've heard that in 3rd they will be bringing in silhouette tools to determine sight
to allow for more interesting posing/ basing / etc. For the time being i'm curious if it would be negatory effect to use these bases. They are micro arts
'made for infinity' I'll link it here: http://shop.microartstudio.com/urban-fight-bases-round-25mm-5-p-548.html

One thing about them though is they are a good cm or so higher then your regular flat base you get in the boxes with the miniatures, although it won't
matter in 3rd would I be able to get away with them in 2nd until 3rd is released without any major trouble or should I look into magnetising or some alternative
so I can switch bases come 3rd, which honestly would be a lot of hassle @.@

Antenociti's Workshop. Terrific quality bases, designed for infinity, lower physically and in price than micro art studios' versions. They have 3 lines available right now and will be coming out with several more.

Ah these definitely look MUCH flatter. As good as the idea for silhouettes is id rather not have to use them if it can be helped come 3rd edition either so.

These wont be too flat then I take it they will be just like default flat black bases?

Can second the Antenociti bases, quite nice designs and very reasonably priced.

I'm not really sure how much of an affect the new rules will have? I have some of my stuff on MAS and Secret Weapon bases, which are great, and the height of the base gives the sculptor more room for variety.

I'm happy to compromise the most tiny game advantage from having a small base if the finished miniature looks better. Although, I realise not everyone feels this way (thinking of the person on the official forums who said he cut all of Scarface's arms and legs in half, then removed 1mm from each, so the footprint would be smaller )

well 3rd is coming with silhouettes which means you could mount your miniatures on a pedastall and regardless of how raised or low they are in regards to whether or not the miniature can be seen the silhouette will be used to confirm line of sight, at least thats what it seems like.

I use the MAS ones, its not really any different from others so no problems there.

MAS ones are double thickness of a regular flat base though D: I went with the flatter ones, will have to wait and see how they turn out, perhaps i'll find a way to add pin and magnets to let me swap depending on how 3rd turns out.
