You know, I really wish 40k took more rule from Fantasy. Like, having no AP and just having the strength value, cover actually making sense, penalties to shooting based on numerous factors. Great systems, and could be awesome in 40k. But alas, I doubt it would ever happen.

I am not sure if this is purely trolling, but if you are serious look up the 40k 2nd Edition rules. They cover everything on your list.

7000 pts. Angels Atratus
3000 pts. Alaitoc
2000 pts. Daemonhunters
4000 pts. Dwarfs
3000 pts. Ogre Kingdoms

That'd be awesome, we could just port all the Fantasy rules over so they're exactly the same game with different minis.

I'm honestly not trying to Troll here, I'm just saying that AP value doesn't make sense in some cases to me, and Cover seems to be more realistic in Fantasy.

I don't play Fantasy so can't say how that system works. My guess is, Fantasy is what, arrows for shooting weapons? So there really is not much need of AP in the game.

For 40K I thought AP was to show you the difference from a hand held gun to rocket launchers and cannons on tanks. That is why we have AP to go against Space Marine Armour and how resilient that armour would be against certain weapons as I mentioned. So you saying all weapons should be the same? A hand gun is the same as a tank cannon? Just asking, not sure what you mean.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Fantasy just reduces armour saves. For example S4 would mean 5+ armour becomes 6+ armour.

What he's referring to is the armor reduction modifier for strength in fantasy.

A strength 3 bow does not reduce armor saves, but starting from strength 4, armor is reduced by 1 per point of strength over 3. This is for both shooting and close combat.

For example, a strength 6 shooting weapon (a standard Bolt Thrower) reduces the target's armor save by 3 (being 3 higher than strength 3). Cannons go as high as S10.

And on the subject of Fantasy rule ports, honestly I don't think it would work out too well. I'm already skeptical on challenges being added in 6th.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.
